NlghtJumper 0 #1 June 18, 2006 It seems there is rarely a night when someone on here isn't drunk. So what do you drink? Do you have different favorites if say your drinking socially vs. drinking just to get drunk? What makes that drink better to you than all the others? Or, are you simply a soda person? Personally, I drink either beer (preferably Heini) or hard liqour (Tequila, Vodka, Rum, Whiskey, whatever is available). The only difference for me when it comes to drinking socially or drinking to get drunk is merely a question of how much I drink. I have heard of some "Beer before liquor" rule or something like that, but I honestly don't care. Out of what is available I just drink what I feel like having. If that means 12 shots with a couple beers in between, or 12 beers with a couple shots in between, so be it. Rookie120 0 #2 June 18, 2006 I drink only on special occasions. Very rarley do I come home, sit down and drink. Unless the night reallllllllllly sucked then I might have 1 or 2. My poison of choice is scotch. I like the Johnny Black. Blue is the best in my opinion but thats for reallly special occasions. The green label is a good one also. I can live with Dewers if I have to. Or on a hot summer day a nice ice cold Corona always hits the spot. Fat Tire is another one of my favorites. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

Andy9o8 2 #4 June 18, 2006 Any good imported beer (preferably German or Belgian) or good Scotch. Every year I hint to the family that gee, a new bottle of Scotch sure would be nice. Never get one. It's Father's Day morning & I'm the first one up. I bet I'll get another tie....
NlghtJumper 0 #5 June 18, 2006 Get enough tie's, trade them in, and get your bottle of scotch! When I was younger I use to do the whole "typical dad gift" thing. Ties, wallets, etc. But now that I am older, my mom includes me and my sisters in a big gift. This year my dad is getting a subscription to the Fly of the Month club. He likes fly fishing, and these guys send him 2 flys, instructions how to build them, and matierials, every month. Hopefully he will like it! freeflir29 0 #7 June 18, 2006 If I want to get stupid and wake up naked but for one shoe. I go with Bacardi and Coke. I love that stuff. No idea why but it just agrees with me better than any other liquor. I have had countless girlfriends that bought me a bottle just because I was so damn entertaining for the night. That's become a real rarity though. Normally it's just beer. Rolling Rock, Yeungling, whatever's cold free and other people's.

kbordson 8 #10 June 18, 2006 Rum.... who can beat sweet sugar gone bad But I also like long islands and smooth wines. Typically drink socially, but there have been times that I just wanted to get drunk and forget about everything Karen
matt1215 0 #11 June 18, 2006 I used to drink a lot of liquor, sometimes still (vodka, gin, whiskey, rum). Choice mainly dictated by what's on hand to cut mix it with. Tonic or juice gets vodka or gin, coke gets rum, sometimes whiskey. Sometimes mix whiskey with coffee or tea (Irish coffee/tea). Sometimes whiskey straight. I used to drink just to get drunk, now I'll just have a couple beers, usually Corona or Guinness. I wrecked myself bad enough, enough times in Korea, that I've just lost the desire to do that. NlghtJumper 0 #12 June 18, 2006 When I first came to Germany I got fucked up every weekend, sometimes twice a weekend. After six months of that, it can really tear you up. Now I only get drunk from time to time. It usually is just social drinking. flyboyne 1 #13 June 18, 2006 My poison is mostly beer, usually busch light, bud light or corona. For the most part the only time I drink the hard stuff is when someone buys me a shot at the bar. Some nights the beer goes down a lot better than others. I usually like to drink a couple beers after work and if someone comes over then it turns into more than just a couple and I end up with a headache in the morning. I always seem to get a little drunker when I not drinking alone so I guess that makes me a social drinker.

NlghtJumper 0 #15 June 18, 2006 I started at 0900 this morning, and am already down to less than 1/2 the case. I sent my friend out to get me another case! I love that shit! matt1215 0 #16 June 18, 2006 Been there, done that. Very often I got most torn up during the week and took it easy on the weekends. Go hit the bars or crack open a few beers in the dayroom after work. In Korea, they have a 3-liter limit on how much booze you can buy (alcoholism/black market). A few times I sent non-drinking friends to the store to buy it for me, or bought soju in town.
NlghtJumper 0 #17 June 18, 2006 The one good thing about germany... very relaxed alcohol rations, and a drinking age of 18 and older for Americans... Helps to teach them youngin's about their limits pretty quickly A man will do anything for the right woman, and when that woman destroys him, that man will become a hunk of meat with the common sense of a rodeo clown! ~ Christopher Titus
matt1215 0 #18 June 18, 2006 When I got to Korea, the drinking age was 20, then they changed it to 21. A friend of my got royally screwed by that. He effectively had his 21st at 20, became an alky, then they cut him off . CC basically told him not to drink in front of him and to watch his @$$. NlghtJumper 0 #19 June 18, 2006 yeah, I am going to be cut off when I go back to the states. I have been drinking legally since I was 18, but I am only 20 and looking at a PCS back to the states... matt1215 0 #20 June 18, 2006 That stinks . I was 26 when I got to Korea, so that really didn't affect me one way or the other. It did suck for Andy tho since he went from one of the more active drinkers to always getting the standby-phone during parties.
