ACMESkydiver 0 #2 June 7, 2006 Tough call. Only you and your doc can fully appreciate your medical situation, which is prolly why you aren't getting a whole big helping of people jumping in here to talk about it... It's all about risk vs reward. Only you can decide that, I'm afraid. If you do go back up in the sky, make sure you are 100% about that decision. That's all I'd have to say. That and good luck in all your ventures and good job recovering from a car accident, it's tough, many of us know.~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. rbrcokflichk 0 #4 June 7, 2006 I compressed T7,8 and 9 and herniated L4&5 on a jump last august. I made a few jumps after that last year and have done quite a few this year. I will say it isn't without total discomfort though, so as others say, it's risk / reward. I was given the okee dokee by the doc though before I jumped....sort of. Good luck, be safe and pack really long openings!!! :) I'd rather have an awkward morning than a boring night!!!
CSpenceFLY 1 #5 June 7, 2006 I have a 30% compression of T-12 from a landing about 6 years ago.I was told not to jump again by a doc to lazy to do some research on skydiving and educate himself.Alot of docs will tell you "you can't do that any more" just to cover their ass. Here I am 1600 jumps later still alive and walking. All injuries are different and I recommend talking to your doctor or even a few.I do feel some discomfort sometimes after a day of jumping but really no worst than a day of hard work.In the end you have to be able to live with your decision and if something bad happens to you don't try to blame your doctor for telling you it is ok to jump. .
