livendive 8 #26 June 6, 2006 QuoteWow... That's pretty much all I can say since I had to pay for my first car... and second... and third... up until the car I have now, which is my seventh car... And in the process of buying number eight, while keeping number seven... My daughter paid for her first car and second car, both of pretty poor quality because that's all she could afford. Also, she's got to give me her current car in exchange for this one, and she only gets physical possession of it for now. The only way she can get the title is to trade me a copy of her bachelor degree for it. This way I get some piece of mind while she's in college, knowing she's driving a reliable car, and it gets her "invested" in her own education, both financially and "emotionally." smiles 0 #30 June 6, 2006 Quotea pretty cool dad sometimes I am impressed! I missed out on having a cool dad- never alone a beauty car givin to me for grad.... Wasn't until a few years back when the bank decided I was o.k. for a car loan- that I indulged in the experience of driving a new car (bank still owns) I kept questioning the feeling I got when driving it...like it wasn't me- not my style or character, too new, material, not really priority in my life. but now----I take great pride in my car- enjoy the hell outa cruising- having it start every morning, no worries of dealing with mechanics---- and have learned there was something about "deserving" that was missing in my life- a feeling of self respect --- and that is something a father can give his daughter without buying her a car.........
