davedlg 0 #2 June 6, 2006 You expect us to do your homework for you?? Oh well. The answers are 8.16ms, 3.07x10^4 N, and 1.3x10^-9 N. Now ya just gotta figure out where those came from.

jkm2500 0 #4 June 6, 2006 How did you get #18. This is my method, and I am getting a different answer. F=G((m1*m2)/r^2) Where G=6.673*10^-11 m1=7.2kg m2=.38kg radius is measured from the center of both spheres. so combine the radii, and then square. Which = (.11m + .028m)^2 = .019 Overall max force that I get is 9.59*10^-9N IS this correct, or am I waaaaayyyyy off?The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise. If so... #4 F=ma and a=v/t F=ma: a=490,000/5= 98,000 m/s^2 a=v/t: t=4000/98,000=0.0408 sec.= 40.8ms #14 F=ma and a=v/t a=v/t: a=220/0.0065=33846.2 m/s^2 F=ma: F=41*33846.2= 1.39E6 N

jkm2500 0 #8 June 6, 2006 Quotehow well would this approach work with my finance class? I dont know, but I think that there are a lot of talented people on here who like to do stuff like this for fun. I can't think of any good reason for this physics stuff. But, there are people who love it. Finance is probably the same way. Give it a try, see what happens. Hopefully, this actually helps my grade. The primary purpose of the Armed Forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
