Recommended Posts

You YIELD to traffic in the circle.

That is all...

Oh and please look left AND right for ALL trafic at stops. I've had this bike for 3 days and you car drivers are making it nerve racking and wearing out my brakes!

Dustin

Basic rule of driving: give right of way to the bigger vehicle or you can be dead right. Nice bike imo assume everyone in a car/truck is out to kill you.B|

Ride to survive!!

When I started riding (....... years ago now) my instructor suggested that I treat EVERYONE like they are going to kill me..... If they dont... Great! It's worked so far, All of the tumbles that I've taken have been single vehicle incidents:$... So, the one bit of the EVERYONE that I have not worked out yet, is ME:$.

Take care out there.

I lot of good advice here. If you have not taken one already take a Motorcycle Safety Foundation course. Everyone that takes the course learns something. They have a “Beginners” course and an “Experienced Riders” course.

Cars sometimes do not see you because they are not looking for you. You might be right but remember the bigger vehicle will always win.

I always rode like I was invisible. Didn't stop the cops from seeing me though. :| Nice wheels. :)

You can have it good, fast, or cheap: pick two.

PM hooknswoop he has the exact same bike (except Blue) and he has done a few things to make himself more visible.

Also invest in good leathers, they ARE worth the money and your skin will thank you.

Its a NICE bike and you get major cool points B|... but points wont protect you against a Dodge Ram

Amen to that, in fact, there are a lot of people now-a-days who buy the BIG trucks and S.U.V.'s because they feel that they get a bigger piece of the road that way. Sorry, but especially S.U.V. drivers - most of the people who have them aren't going to use them as 'Sport Utility Vehicles' - they're goin' to the mall and will gladly run you over on the way there because they're bigger than you and they can. They are urban assault vehicles.

So watch out and be safe my friend!

Good advice - Dress for the wreck, not the ride :) A good set of frame sliders will save you a bunch in the case of a get off too......

I nearly got pancaked between a Volvo and a Ford F-150 goin' 75mph yesterday cuz some tard decided that 12mph was fast enough for the hammer lane (75mph speed limit). The guy two cars in front of me didn't catch it in time and punted the freakin' tard and the guy in front of me slammed on the brakes and hit the guy in front of him. I put myself on the center stripe and split the lane between the wreck and the Pontiac next to me while the truck behind me ran straight in to the pile.

Treat everyone like they're out to kill you - because they really are.

Nice scooter by the way.

Peace,
Z

Be diferent, Go anticlockwise.

A motorcyclist did that to me once on a roundabout. I was in my car, stopped at the roundabout because there was a stopsign. While I was stopped, the motorcyclist pulled from behind my car into my left hand blind spot, and tried to race with me into the roundabout, except he went the wrong way, clockwise (stateside here).

He nearly merged with my left side passenger door when I made it around to the other side of the roundabout...and I didn't know till he was behind me because he was in my blind spot the whole while. Would have been a candidate for the Darwin awards if he succeeded.
My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?

According to US DOT data there is a lower (by some 50%) accident rate at roundabouts than at traffic lights. Less congestion too.

Traffic lights are the work of Satan.

You just need to mount a .50 cal machine gun to the front of that. Then at least if they don't respect you, you can always rain justice on them

Dont recall seeing too many roundabouts in the US... Are they becoming more popular?

Here.... we're dogged with them.. mostly they're O.K but mini-roundabouts (a white painted blob in the middle of the road!) are a right royal pain in the arse.
