They had a special on Bo, a while back and it explained the trouble Bo was having getting 'his' music on the cd. I hope Bo gets back to where he's comfortable when he's allowed to do 'his' music the way he wants it done. Even though he sounds good on his new cd, it's not what he is all about. His video is awful. They don't even have the sound and video in sync! I will continue to support him and hope that he has more say in future recordings.

Unfortunately, while talent is important, looks carry a semi-talented person further just because they are "eye candy" and very marketable.

Do you really think looks carries more weight than the vocals/performance? Of the last 4 winners, the only one I could honestly say is downright attractive is Carrie. I think both Kelly and Fantasia are just average looking and Ruben is well, Ruben.

Considering both Ruben and Mandisa's weight, I bet there will be a double standard. I honestly think the 2 best singers this year are Mandisa and Chris. I bet there are people who will not be as accepting of Mandisa's weight as they were of Ruben's.

I'm too old to get "turned on" by any of these teenie boppers, but it's not me doing the voting. Nor Randy, Paula or Simon.

It's the average "Joe Schmoe" who is doing the voting. I'll bet you that more of them are looking at the looks..and less at the talent.

When Kelly started, she was on the heavy side. She lost weight throughout the show. And then after she won, she lost more...and changed her look. Have you SEEN how she looks now? Sex sells.

Ruben was/ is overweight to an extremely unhealthy level. Mandisa is huge also, but she doesn't look THAT unhealthy. Time will tell. Ruben could barely get through one song. Towards the end of the competition when he had to do 2 and then 3? He was a mess. Seriously, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they kept O2 backstage for him. There's no way he could tour or live up to any of the expectations of "American Idol". If I'm not mistaken, he was even hospitalized. I honestly thought when he won, his "handlers" would force him to take control of his health, but they didn't. They just let him slip through the cracks. Kelly Clarkson trashed her voice that first year with all the appearances and touring she was expected to do. I guess it paid off, but her voice will never be the same. Ruben fell under the radar because he wasn't healthy enough to make all the promotional appearances. I understand he had a very successful gospel album, though.

I think Madisa's age will work against her more than her weight. She'll be gone before the young kids. Chicken Little will make the top 6.

Don't even get me started on Bo. Clive Davis must be senile. He finds this natural talent with a gift for rock and roll, and forces him to make some overproduced piece of pop crap as his first CD. (There's some decent material on it, but its really nothing special and nothing like the Bo America fell for last year.) He must have forgotten that golden rule- if it aint broke, don't "fix" it! My only hope is he sold enough CDs that he gets a shot at a second one where he's go more artistic control.

And his performance was off too, but he's been struggling with some serious health issues since he left the show. He probably needs to take several months off just to allow his body to heal, but that's hard to do when you want to promote a new cd.

Did you Know that Bo Bice only just recently underwent major gastro-intestinal surgery? I was surprised to see him on stage at all. I had read they removed quite a bit of insides from him. I am too lazy to do a search on it. All things considered, I think he did well. Did you see how bad he was sweating?

I had no idea he had been ill and undergone surgery!! I knew he looked thinner, but I figured that (once again) "industry" did it to him. I feel like such a b*tch.

I just got out of the hospital 2 weeks ago (similar gastro/int), barely escaped surgery - I'm still not up to my normal activity level. Hats off to him. He went through some tough stuff.

I still didn't like the song.

Yes, it was really serious and he hasn't taken much time to recover. He's already had at least one relapse. But he's got a CD to promote and it needs to sell enough to warrant another (hopefully better) one, so he's out doing the PR stuff again even though he can't possibly be 100%.

You aren't a bitch though, just honest- his performance was off last night and the new material sucks. He was so riveting last year with almost all of his performances- why oh why didn't Clive Davis go with what clearly worked? I'll never understand the music industry!

It makes you almost hope the Chris doesn't win. He has "IT" and "IT" needs to be left alone. I can't bear the thought of him singing bubble gum pop crap.

Bo needs to stay with his southern roots. What the hell is clive thinking?

BTW: I read that it was an intestinal blockage. Very tough/painful. The surgery is rough, rough, rough. He IS doing good getting around like he is.

I waited and waited for Bo to release his cd, I was first getting to the store to buy it. While the music is okay, I was disappointed that it was so "pop" sounding. All we can do is support him and hope he gets a chance to record his choices in music.

I like Stevie Wonder...but I can't say that I love him...there are a few choice songs for me....so with that said.....I really struggled to watch last night....I did flip back and forth between American idol and Sons and Daughters...I did catch Taylor's performance...I was specifically waiting for him....yep he did a great job!!!! The others?....Bucky...he sounds the same with every song he sings....not sure if I like that....the girls aren't doing much for me this year.

Last night Taylors hair looked as though it had been cut....slightly parted to the side too as opposed to being in the middle....I don't think they could color his hair...it wouldn't look right and it wouldn't be Taylor. Hear the name Taylor Hicks...you automatically think gray hair.


Elliots hair just REALLY bugs me...whats up with those bangs?? It looks as though they used a bowl to cut around his hair.

Talk about a 'singing test! Dayum! Stevie Wonder's music is extremely difficult. Good ol' Taylor, did a great job. Little Kevin, has really gotten full of himself! The boy needs to go! Kelly, is cute as a bug and I really enjoy watching her and her sense of humor is refreshing. Those folks that helped with their 'look' really screwed things up for some of the contestants. Paris is really good! For her young age, she can sure belt-out a song.

I don't think she should be in the competition....her Grandmother is a professional singer....winning numerous awards and such...she has connections that she could have used to get her grand daughter in the business or at the very least her foot in the door...Paris's spot should be taken by someone that would not have that kind of oppurtunity...someone off the street so to speak....Paris is good..maybe too good....ts not fair.
