Buried 0 #1 May 25, 2006 so to continue with this thread ticketmaster sucks. why do they have the need to gouge you?!? I refuse to purchase anything via ticket master. i'll just go to the boxoffice or even call the boxoffice and pay 0 or 5$ max. much better than the 12+$ they want to c harge your for stupid things. of course they buy the little guys and then setup contracts and offer huge incentives so the venues can't sell via anyone else. Love how 40$ shows then were 40-45$. now it's more like $60. I still can't believe people will pay that for some things. i guess each to their own, but they shouldn't complain. some somewhat interesting stuff on wikki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ticketmaster Where is my fizzy-lifting drink? jumpjunkie2004 0 #2 May 25, 2006 I had to purchase Cirque Du Soleil tickets through them - it was an advance sell and I could only get the advance tickets by using them. I was pretty sick when I saw my total! The tickets at face value were $89.50 each, but my total for five tickets was just over $532. That's $84 in fees!!!! I won't use them again - if i can avoid it.Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat...
Broke 0 #3 May 25, 2006 I miss the day of attending concerts of certain bands that would mail order tickets. No extra fees. No convieance charges. I hate ticketbastard.Divot your source for all things Hillbilly. Anvil Brother 84 SCR 14192

NWFlyer 2 #5 May 25, 2006 Yeah, they suck, but there's usually not a lot of alternatives. Even Pearl Jam has given up the fight. I will use them if I have no viable alternative, and sometimes with my schedule, I have no viable alternative. When I worked in downtown Seattle I got very good at getting my Mariners tickets directly from the team store - no service charges *at all* and I didn't have to deal with stadium parking/traffic to get them. I've noticed in Seattle there seem to be a few alternative vendors that are cropping up. Service charges, yes, but nothing as obnoxious as Ticketmaster's charges."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please.
