The joy of Little League

Recommended Posts

Usually I'm coaching or umpiring but last night I had the oppurtunity to shoot some pictures. I wanted to share one special picture I took that shows what Little League should be all about. This is a boy on my son's team right after he hit a homerun. Unfortunetely it was in a losing effort but he doesn't seem to care, he's completely in the moment.

The dude behind him is probably the pitcher's son. Looks like Junior is sleeping outside tonight judging fromthe guy's expression.

Baseball is the greatest. Great picture. Coaching those guys is the best way to keep it a great sport. I used to love stopping the game and wait if the parents got on the ump too much. Coached all four of my kids. 2 were girls cause they didn't have softball back then. Now I follow our friend's kids whenever I can and take pictures for them. I love it.

I hear ya. I love being a coach. It's tough with my job but I make all the games I can. Last night I took pictures of all the kids at different points of the game, printed off 2 or 3 of the best ones of each kid and will give them to the parents at the game Wed.

Nice! I love that shot! My nephew Jeffrey who is 5 years old just started t-ball a few weeks ago. I went to his opening game. It's so much fun to watch. Of course, the kids barely know the rules, and are usually too busy finding cool rocks to get the ball... but it's only the start. B|

When I saw that picture, I just let out the biggest "awwwwwwwww" - that's great! That is absolute joy on his face...every kid should know that!

Was that homerun an over the fence homer, or an in the park type? So few fields have fences that can be reached by players that age.

I've posted these last season, but what the heck, can't miss an opportunity to show off my kids...

Somedays it surely is good to be a dad, like when they hit a bases loaded/bases clearing double. You can honestly say that you 'taught him everything he knows'.

The first is my 9 year old replica sending a shot over the right fielder's head. The ball is just coming off the bat, good timing with the camera, eh? It was a 1/350 of a second exposure. His first year of 'kid pitch' baseball. My 12 year old replica is a real power hitter also.

My 9 year old also had a game winning, 2 out, walk off 2 RBI double in his first round of playoffs this year. You might say his self esteem was not lacking after that.

The last two pics are of my 12 year old, he was leaning weird in this swing, but it sure did fly away...
People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

It was one of those inside the park with a couple of throwing errors home runs that are common in Little League, but he didn't know the difference B|
