Dial up internet advice.....

Recommended Posts

Dial up and satellite are the only options where I live. I'm not paying $60/month for satellite. I'm currently using Earthlink at $22/month. Any suggestions on another provider which is faster and less $$$$?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Advice? Move.

Yes Chris. You'd think after having watched countless stories in the media about people risking their lives to sail for days on a home built raft made of coconuts and palm thatch that you would have caught on by now. And no broad-band? What are you people still stuck in the 70's? :D

I know....hard to comprehend. I live in the Berkshires (Western Massachusetts). Beautiful place to live, but yes...we're stuck in the '80s when it comes to technology. A lot of it has to do with the citizens who don't want to see transmitting towers for cell phones and pay fairly big bucks for a T1 line.[:/]

ISDN might still be a viable option in your area. Also, is there no TV cable broadband?

As for dial-up, I used localnet for years with no issues.
