NoRules 0 #1 May 17, 2006 The post in general discussions got me thinking... do you have a home dz? One that you frequent every single weekend? I did for my first 25 jumps but then I took off. I've made it a point to travel and check out as many dz's as possible... up to 24 now! This is not to say that I don't have one that I jump at most frequently and have the most friends at- I just think it's fun to play with everyone What about you? ~ * Life Has No Rules * ~
AggieDave 6 #2 May 17, 2006 I definately have a home DZ. Then again, I've been on staff at this DZ for 4 years. Beyond that I had a home DZ before Aggieland opened. It was where I started jumping at, even though I traveled to other DZs, that's the one that felt like home. Its where my friends were. That's the biggest thing about a "home DZ." Its where your friends are, where you feel the most comfortable.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

weegegirl 2 #4 May 17, 2006 It was Skydive Tecumseh for 3 years, but for over a year I've been working and jumping at Skydive Orange, and I definitely refer to it as my "home dz". Why? Cuz it simply RAWKS!
freeflir29 0 #5 May 17, 2006 Yes.........my trailer is parked there and I don't have a truck to pull it with yet. So..........I'm stuck. Seriously..........it's a great DZ. Skydive the Farm.
littleredfrog 0 #6 May 17, 2006 I have a home dz that I go to every weekend if I can help it. Its a good dz and the people there are awesome... but if I am ever out of town I try to get in a jump wherever I am!MB# 4012
GogglesnTeeth 6 #7 May 17, 2006 I still call Blue Skies Skydiving in Bremerton, WA "home" even though I haven't been there in nearly a year and a half. I hope to go visit this summer!!!Goggles and Teeth "You fall like a greased safe!!!"

Even tho the last time I was there it was too windy too jump, and the last time before that was September?? NoRules 0 #9 May 17, 2006 Yeah, I guess my "home" is still where I first learned, even though it's been MONTHS since I've been there... it's hard to make the 6 hours drive ~ * Life Has No Rules * ~
Jessie07 0 #10 May 17, 2006 Skydive Atlanta! This DZ is awesome and has a wonderful plane(The King Air). It may have a small door but that thing is fast! "It was Moses!" "Our Shenanigan leader was laid back this weekend"
Chrissay 0 #11 May 17, 2006 Skydive Tecumseh! It is where I made my first jump at, I make 99% of my jumps there, I work there, my dad use to jump there, it is where my parents met and the place is just a cool place to be. It is where I go to play with my friends I love venturing out to other dz's, its just hard to when I have money on account at Tecumseh.
jumpjunkie2004 0 #12 May 17, 2006 I think of Orange like my home, but I'm like that second cousin twice removed that can't come to all the holiday dinners because they have other commitments. I get there as often as I can, but sometimes I go where I know the weather will guarantee a jump or two. I have very few "get out of jail free" cards.Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat... boinky 0 #13 May 17, 2006 I have a "home" dz in Georgia where I spent most of my jumping years. But my new "home" dz is also where I work, so I don't get to jump very much any more. I love to travel to other dz's though, to check out new stuff. So far, I've jumped in about 10 different states and about 20 different dz's. What can I say? I like variety. flygirl1 0 #14 May 17, 2006 I would call my home DZ Skydance because that is where I spend most of my time, but I also spend quite a bit of time at other Dz's as well.Fly like a girl
skygirlpc 0 #15 May 17, 2006 I definitely have a dz that I call home! I love the people there and nobody spoils me like they do at home! Of course I am on staff there, but it will always be my home! JAC 0 #17 May 17, 2006 Nope, not really. Home is wherever my friends are. We bounce between a couple of DZ's. NS4
Icon134 0 #18 May 17, 2006 I suppose I technically have a home dz... but I still enjoy exploring other dzs on a regular basis... Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
DownWind 0 #19 May 17, 2006 Skydive Tecumseh is definitely my home DZ. I learned there through the AFF program and just recently received my coach rating there. It is my home away from home on the weekends. I will really miss the dropzone and all my friends there when I move to Mexico in July. It is fun to jump elsewhere, but I really enjoy my weekends in Tecumseh.
deltablue 0 #20 May 18, 2006 I'm very anxious to get back into the sport and find a good home DZ after my false start last year. The real issue is setting aside funds right now to get off to a good start without having to worry. I've got a lot of variables to consider other than the atmosphere here in the beginning. Price of AFF , gear rental for the first several jumps and the price of those jumps.....I'd be willing to take off a week and drive 5-6 hours to take care of those things at first, and then find something closer.. on the other hand, I'm thinking of moving anyway and my job is going to require quite a bit of travel , so who knows really what will happen. All I know is I'm doing all I can to get my ducks in a row and get my ass back up in the sky ASAP. ~He who looks outside his own heart dreams, he who looks inside his own heart awakens - Carl Jung~ My Space
