NSEMN8R 0 #1 May 12, 2006 It's even worse than email spam. It just started about 3 weeks ago. I work out of a home office and nothing pisses me off more than those fuckers wasting my ink and paper. I get advertisements for everything from insurance to material handling equipment. I've tried faxing them back requesting to be taken off their list. Nobody answers the number the fax says to call to be removed from the list. How do I get them to stop?
NtheSeaOrSky 0 #2 May 12, 2006 You can try this, if worked for many of the ones we had, but there were a few resistant ones I took about 40 sheets of paper, and made a cover sheet, a 'this page intentionally left blank' sheet, and then a long sentence with one word in large print on each page : please do not send any more unsolicited faxes to this number again as it wastes paper ink and is incredibly frustrating as you might can imagine right now !! Thank you very kindly for your attention to this matter !!! Yes the intial paper investment is high, but you can save it and just resend it each time. Like I said, worked for lots of them but there were always a few that it didnt phase. .Life is not fair and there are no guarantees...

Broke 0 #4 May 12, 2006 one other option is black construction paper and tape it will probibly take 3 sheets or so to work. tape the three sheets end to end, then as the first sheet comes out tape the last sheet to the first sheet. Let it go as long as you feel like it.Divot your source for all things Hillbilly. Anvil Brother 84 SCR 14192

vid666 0 #8 May 12, 2006 Get a computer based fax server. So all your faxes are received on a PC, and then you can print them out on a laser - cuz I bet you don't need 60% of what you get on paper - and this also works great for storing them and saving ink/paper. Keep your fax machine for sending. P.S. How's your ass ?

I kind of like broke's idea with the black construction paper and tape though. I could even write a nice note in white out on it and let it run all day. My ass cheek healed up just fine by the way. monkycndo 0 #11 May 12, 2006 You can sue fax spammers in small claims court for $500 per fax received. If they are from out of state, it becomes much more difficult. Google fax small claims court and you will find all the info you need.50 donations so far. Give it a try. How's your fib? You walking yet? you setup a regular old (cheap) PC with a fax modem and software like WinFaxPro ( I am sure there are better ones). Just have it receive faxes, you will be able to view them in proprietory format, print, and export to PDF. While at it, you can also use the same system for voicemail. I say $70 bucks and 2 hours of work - and you will save a shitload of paper and aggravation. I am not walking yet - but moving around using crutches. July i will be back in the sky. But I still remember that ass Tony.
CSpenceFLY 1 #13 May 12, 2006 What you do is feed a roll of blank fax paper into your machine and send it to them if you have their number. They will never bother you again. .
lawrocket 3 #14 May 12, 2006 Did you know it is a violation of federal law to send unsolicited fax advertisements? 47 USC section 227(b)(1)(c)? Did you know that you have a private right of action to sue in state court for recovery of your money damages, or $500.00 for each violation, whichever is greater? (47 USC section 227(c)(5)(b)? If you've gotten 20 faxes, that's 10 grand. Oh, yeah, you can sue for injunction, too. Of course, that's only unless you gave the spammer express invitation or permission. Send them a fax requesting that they settle this out of court for about half of what you can get them for. It oughtta open their eyes.. My wife is hotter than your wife. Girlfalldown 0 #16 May 12, 2006 Seriously? We used to get a lot here at work but my boss gave them to someone and they "took care of it" whatever that means. For the last year or so I hadn't received a single one but then a few weeks ago they started coming again. I use WinFax Pro so I should still have them. -------------- (Do not, I repeat DO NOT, take my posts seriously.)
