Newly-qualified Army officer Harry proved he DID — by stepping out of a Cessna strapped to an instructor 10,000ft over bush near Cape Town, South Africa. Chelsy whooped and cheered as she spotted her Prince, third in line to the throne, as a dot in the blue skies over her homeland. Harry and his instructor free-fell for 40 seconds at up to 120mph, temporarily blinded as they went through thick white cloud. As they emerged the instructor pulled the ripcord and they floated down for a perfect landing. Harry — wearing his trademark scruffy jeans, military-issue desert boots and a grey hoodie — gave Chelsy a double thumbs-up as she took pictures. An eye witness at the Skydive Cape Town jump site said: “Chelsy had dared Harry to do it after she did her own skydive last year and he told her that anything she could do, he could!” “There was a loud shout of ‘Yes!’ from Chelsy as she saw his purple parachute suddenly open.” Harry has been enjoying a holiday in South Africa with Chelsy before he returns to join his new regiment, the Blues and Royals. He had been trying all week to make the jump but 75mph winds had ruled it out. Yesterday the weather cleared and Chelsy drove Harry out to the remote airfield in snake-infested countryside. He had to sign indemnity forms, was given a 15-minute talk and his detective paid the £120 jump fee. Harry’s instructor then said: “This is your last chance to back out, man. Once we take off you will leave that aircraft”. Harry grinned back and said: “Let’s do it!” During their descent the instructor executed a series of stomach-churning aerobatic moves, including somersaulting the parachute through 360 degrees. On landing, Harry was unstrapped from him and told to “thank the man who just saved your life”. Chelsy then rushed over and hugged Harry tightly. An eye-witness said: “It was an amazing show of affection. She said she was so proud of him. Harry was just full of adrenaline and saying, ‘You lose the dare! What’s next?’.” During their time together in Cape Town the young lovebirds have spent ten idyllic days at Chelsy’s £350,000 flat. They have partied hard with pals and spent lazy afternoons by the pool.
