cypres expiration??

Recommended Posts

if a cypres was manufactured 8/95, when EXACTLY does it expire? is August the first month of the 3 month grace period or September?

can I jump it this weekend?

I just got a used rig, it needs a re-pack, but the cypres did have it's 8 year service and the batteries are a year old.

paying to get the reserve re-packed when my new cypres comes in next week is still cheaper than renting gear this weekend.

12 years from DOM with a 3 month grace period is how i understand it. the service is noted as 4 years +/- 3 months and that seems to comonly translate to 12 years + 3 months to Your "Cypress Is Dead Date"

8/95 is technically good to the end of 11/07 as I read the lifespan from Cypress.

If someone has a different opinion I am sure it will get noted!;)

What they said. I won't pack a cypres that will have it's service, battery, or lifetime expire in the next 120 days. Except for very good customers who I know will bring it back. But other riggers will pack a cypres in this situation.

But, I often will open MY pack job to replace or exchange a cypres. I don't guarentee that I won't have to completely repack it but if I don't I don't charge to do this because I'd rather people jump with cypres'.

So see if your rigger will add the cypres next week. If so get it packed without the cypres, have fun jumping and get the cypres put in next week.

:o:o:o "Did he just say jump without a cypres?" Yep!;)
