SpeedRacer 1 #101 April 18, 2006 Yeah, I was bad on Wednesday April 5. And i has SAID that I was going to my homebrew club on Monday the 3rd. Been good since then though. and I got another homebrew club meeting on Monday, May 1. But there will be no drinking in the evening after it is over. So to make up for it I will go through until Cinco de Mayo. Speed Racer --------------------------------------------------
skymama 37 #102 April 18, 2006 Has anyone lost weight from not drinking? I know someone who gave up beer for Lent and he lost 10 lbs!She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
lawrocket 3 #103 April 18, 2006 I haven't lost any weight. I've actually stayed stable - probably due to the sodas I've been drinking instead (I rediscovered the joys of root beer). Then again, I don't need to lose any weight. I took care of that a couple of months ago... My wife is hotter than your wife.
Joellercoaster 6 #104 April 18, 2006 Oh crap, I completely forgot I was going to do this. Then I got drunk, and totally forgot how I totally forgot. And so on... now I'm remembering, and the recursive unforgettings are doing my head in.-- "I'll tell you how all skydivers are judged, . lawrocket 3 #105 April 28, 2006 I've had my empty keg of Firestone Double Barrel Ale sitting on my back porch for over a month now. Yesterday, my lady kindly and gently informed me that I should seriously consider "doing something with that goddamned empty keg." Apparently, she is concerned with the noises that it makes when my son and the new dog play near (aka "with") the keg. So Sunday I will be heading to the local beer retailer to get this keg replaced in time for the coming heat of summer. I've been a good man since March 22 - no alcohol since then. I find myself very much looking forward to returning from work on Monday and pouring myself a pint. I may do so earlier if Madame Pope grnts dispensation for Sunday or Saturday. All I know if that, for me, No-Alcohol April has been a success. It's been easier than I thought it would be. It has also been vastly more difficult. My hat is off to everyone who participated, even if for a week. Or even those who decided, "I dont' think I'll have a drink tonight." I'm sure there have been varying successes, which is okay. Have fun this weekend. Be good. My wife is hotter than your wife.

ntrprnr 0 #107 April 29, 2006 I'm still going... Gonna actually take it to May 20th... May 8th, I'm doing this again for two weeks. It ends Friday the 19th. Saturday, May 20th, there will be a few bartenders and one kid from the Bronx who will be able to retire off of me. It's gonna be wild._______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" simplyputsi 0 #108 April 29, 2006 still going strong here. Had a few times I could have drank but passed it up. Also the case in the fridge is nice and tempting. I just keep telling myself it's part of my training. I'll be drinking cinco de mayo and that is that!!!Skymama's #2 stalker -
SpeedRacer 1 #109 April 29, 2006 I was "bad" twice this month (there were certain mitigating circumstances, but anyway), so I'm going until Cinco de Mayo. Speed Racer --------------------------------------------------

lawrocket 3 #114 May 1, 2006 QuoteSo did everyone make it through OK?? Is anyone else besides me going until Friday?? I did well. And tonight I shall have One beer. I did get that new keg yesterday. However, with coming summertime and for entertainment purposes, people around here would rather have Coors Light than good stuff. So I've got a keg and I won't drink from it. simplyputsi 0 #115 May 1, 2006 I made it, and I will be going until friday as well. I might resort to kill it with alchohol if this cold doesn't give way. Skymama's #2 stalker -
aprilcat 0 #116 May 2, 2006 Hey! I thought this was an intervention...not that I need one. I had ONE beer last month on my birthday (the 15th). This is a good idea and its nice to see people participate.~~April Camelot II, the Electric Boogaloo!

SpeedRacer 1 #118 May 2, 2006 Bullshit. I've defeated many foreign invaders with a copius application of spirits. Spirits are deadly to infectious diseases. Little kids hide under the covers from Spirits, and Adults hit them from Drinking Spirits in Openly. So basically, the Spirits have nowhere to run & nowhere to hide. I actually don't think such measures will need to be taken. I went home early yesterday, took some meds, got some sleep, drank a ton of vitamin C and took some more meds before bed.
