Hooknswoop 19 #1 May 1, 2006 Took one for a drive today. Hit 120 mph on the on-ramp. Didn't look at the instruments after that. It wasn't even working hard yet. That is one hell of a car. Derek
RkyMtnHigh 0 #2 May 1, 2006 So Derek are you saying that with all of the money you've saved from not jumping that you can buy that sweet car? (When I add up all the money I've spent in this sport in such a short time, I could have a home nearly paid off) Are you buying it or just testing it out? BTW, I'm still homesick. Some friends called me from the Cherry Creek Sneak today since they remembered that I did that every year while living out there in Colorado...miss it...miss it a lot! _________________________________________
Hooknswoop 19 #3 May 1, 2006 QuoteAre you buying it or just testing it out? LOL- I wish. They go for about 500k. I just got to drive it. Absolutely amazing car. I can't think of anything I have ever been in that acclerated like this car did. The owner stopped it on the free way, in the fast lane, then got back up to speed before the traffic 1/4 mile behind us could catch us. He said it is the 3rd fastest production sprts car and the fastest stopping production sports car. Derek
RkyMtnHigh 0 #4 May 1, 2006 Damn! You should've taken it out to Bandemere Speedway and put it to the ultimate test! _________________________________________

Laurel 0 #12 May 1, 2006 Nice opportunity. I read about the gearboxes not too long ago, but I certainly wouldn't turn one down if someone offered it to me. It is a beautiful ride. But one question, my husband and I were fueding a while back on the pronunciation of McLaren. Who is right? MICK-la-REN or MICK-LA-ren? Or is neither of us right? ..................................................................... PMS#28, Pelogrande Rodriguez#1074 My Pink M
hexadecimal 0 #13 May 1, 2006 It's kind of sad to see the McLaren name even associated with this car... especially after the F1, a car which still holds it's own among some of the top supercars, 12-13 years later.

Beats me. As for the gearbox, shifted fine for me. Derek
Stumpy 284 #16 May 1, 2006 The second pronunciation. But the car isn't a proper Mclaren, word is a lot of the engineers were disgusted to put their company's name to it.Never try to eat more than you can lift
hexadecimal 0 #17 May 1, 2006 I've heard the same. I think some of them actually quit over it.
