I saw the Angels at Kelleyadai's graduation from the Naval Academy. I was very cool. What was even cooler was going out to Fentress several years later in the middle of the night when she was doing mock carrier landings with The Fighting Black Lions of VF-213. We were sitting in a little booth in the middle of a field in the dark watching the marker lights then wham they appeared 50 ft away touching down and taking off at full power. I never knew that an F-14 was that big of a plane until one appeared out of the dark next to me at full power. You could feel it in your bones when it roared by. I went on a dependents day cruise with him one day and they did a flyby so close and low to the ship and I didn't see it coming. The noise literally knocked me off of my feet and I fell over into this thing. Bruised my entire thigh. I lived on air stations for years including Pensacola NAS where the Blues are based and did a practice show every Tuesday. I would go to the practices with some of their wives and watch.
