gay-unicorn 0 #2 November 18, 2007 I used to psycho pack my pilot 117 but I kept on having malfunctions. So I switched canopies. I kind of wish I didn't because I can't stand my landings up now.Don't hate me 'cause you aint me.
phoenixlpr 0 #3 November 18, 2007 Why do you want to? There's other, less revolutionary of controlling the material: Wolmari-pack and reverse S-folding. BTW I had a Pilot, its a good choice, but not so easy to pack it if its new.

I must confess that I had a really hard time packing a brand new pilot 210 in a new Icon 6(made for pilot 190) IT made me a good packer now, but it was hard to learn.. hehe. My new samurai dosen't feel that slippery and it's made buy PD."Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you long to return." - Da Vinci www.lilchief.no

kaerodyne 0 #8 November 19, 2007 Quoteis there anyone who psycho packs a pilot? Psycho packing the Pilot will slow down the openings on the Pilot, and as you know the Pilot is already a slow opening canopy. Aerodyne makes use of the latest fabrics to ensure longevity and strength of our canopies, the silicon based coating on the ZP fabric reduces friction on the fabric during and thus increases the longevity of the canopy. headcase 0 #17 November 20, 2007 As mentioned previously Wolmari or Reverse s-folds seem particularly well-suited to new Pilot canopies.

PrairieDoug 0 #19 November 20, 2007 I psycho pack my Pilot and I also use packers who do a conventional pro pack. I get good openings in both cases and haven't really noticed a consistent difference between them. Doug
pinkfairy 0 #20 November 20, 2007 QuoteIs psycho packing the same as trash packing? I have the impression that "trash pack" is a poorly done packjob, or a packjob done so fast that it can't have been done properly. Often involving just stuffing the canopy in the D-bag like a sleeping bag. Definetely not recommended. this: http://www.icaruscanopies.aero/canopies/Omega/packing.htm is a psycho pack. It's just a different bagging method. I've never seen it IRL, everyone at my DZ makes S-folds, even though there's a lot of hard to pack new PD nylon there.Relax, you can die if you mess up, but it will probably not be by bullet.
