bdrake529 0 #1 November 19, 2007 I was at Perris yesterday and saw a really nice camera helmet. The logo said "tonflight" and someone who had talked to the owner of the helmet (I didn't talk with the owner directly) said his company had an internet store. I've done a few Google searches and can't find it. The helmet was similar to a Bonehead Optik, as it had a flat space on top, and on both sides. According to the 3rd party source, it cames standard with a hinged jaw cup and cutaway system and supposedly sold for around $300. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about and where I can find out more? Thanks, BrianBrian Drake
dragon2 2 #2 November 19, 2007 You may have better luck asking this in the camera forum, i know I´ve read about this company before... ciel bleu, Saskia

diablopilot 2 #5 November 20, 2007 I've handled one and they are a very nice quality helmet, but I think you'll pay quite a bit more than $300.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
wonder2006 0 #6 November 20, 2007 Excellent helmets and brilliant customer service from Giovanni at Tonfly! I've attached pics of mine - I went for the converter pro, which means you have a quick release for the camera box, and can change the angle of your camera if you require. Difficult to see in the pic but you can get a better idea from their website. Very happy with it, and got it it custom in under 4 weeks. I've seen their suits too and they look great. damion75 0 #7 November 20, 2007 I went for the Tonfly Fuego Pro (single flat side and flat top, with cutaway but no box - optional extra). It arrived promptly, fits well, is very comfortable and look pretty good too! I would have to recommend them. You will pay a bit more than $300 I would have thought, due to the weak dollar. Mine was about £220, including VAT, delivery etc, which is about $440. YMMV for tax reasons. *************** Not one shred of evidence supports the theory that life is serious - look at the platypus. skyblu3 0 #8 November 20, 2007 > Does this mean you can remove the camera + box and jump without the camera, easily and quickly?? I have been looking for a multi use helmet lately and this might be it. If I am gonna spend so much money on a helmet I'd rather use the same helmet for regular jumps and camera jumps. wonder2006 0 #9 November 20, 2007 Yes, it's brilliant! If you have a look at the first pic I attached - the top mount has the plastic stopper that you pop in when you take the box off - they send you one for each mounted area. And it takes a second to release the box, yet it is very secure and won't come off in freefall. Its a fantastic design. Well worth the money, especially when travelling, and if like me, you often don't want to fly camera! From seeing an earlier post of yours you've been out to Slovakia Boogie - Tonfly are based not too far away from the DZ.
diablopilot 2 #10 November 20, 2007 I really like the looks of their "Diablo" helmet. I'm just not a fan of chin cups.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
za_skydiver 0 #11 November 21, 2007 I have the Diablo, purchased it last year. Customer service from Giovanni at Tonfly is great. The helmet fits great, and the top of the Diablo is big enough to fit a liquid flatlock on.Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
