CityBoy 0 #26 April 14, 2006 Quote dont they rent those little team rooms out right on the dropzone? The most cost effective option is the bunkhouse. It's $10.00 bucks a night. The next step up would be the team rooms. They go for $40.00 bucks a night since it's effectively a mini-bunkhouse with four beds and a fridge. Both options give you a basic bed to crash in, and the shower house is just a few steps away. When I travel for work, I often stay at the Ritz Carlton, and I can say from experience these accommodations are somewhat sparse in comparison, but nonetheless it's cheap, convenient, realtively clean, and comfortable... even for my pampered ass! I'll do a team room when it's busy and want a little space/privacy, otherwise the bunkhouse is fine. I've stayed at all four of the motels that are in the 4-7 mile range: Red Roof - Typical truckstop motel. Rooms I stayed in smelled like giant urinal and/and cig smoke Super 8 - This was the cleanest of the bunch Motel 6 - Typical truckstop motel Days Inn - Hmmmm... I know I stayed there but don't recal specifics so it must not have been too bad The SDAZ web site has a page with a the details regarding on-dz and other nearby accomodations. http://www.skydiveaz.com/_facilities_data/facilities_lodging.html
VanillaSkyGirl 6 #27 April 14, 2006 I did check the bunkhouse and team rooms first, but I'm meeting my friend Dan in Eloy (4-way flying in the tunnel with him), who he told me that the whole bunkhouse and team rooms are currently taken by his army buddies. I was offered a bed to sleep in at either of those, since many of the guys will most likely be going to Phoenix for the weekend. I decided to still look into hotels, just in case.
