People that are hung up on appearances usually hook up with other people who are hung up on appearances, so I guess it all works out, and it doesn't really affect me. It's not my thing, and my experience is that attitude can rarely be judged by appearance. And I also find that a person's attractiveness increases or decreases as I get to know them, depending on their personality, but that's just me...
