skymama 37 #2 March 31, 2006 Always. Crawling into an unmade bed at night is just icky. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
wmw999 2,541 #3 March 31, 2006 I didn't for about 30 years. Just started about 2 years ago (began exposing my bed to someone who always had). Now, after 2 years, it's just natural and it looks nicer; I even do it when he's traveling. Clearly for me it takes longer than 21 days to make a habit . MrBounce 0 #5 March 31, 2006 No, leave the covers pulled back to air the bed...... then the maid can do it when she cleans the room I spend way-y-y-y too much time living in hotel rooms Gavin Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. SkydiveStMarys 0 #7 March 31, 2006 Yes...because the rest of the room is a mess (I just need a bigger room!!)...when people see my room..their eyes automatically look to the largest object in the room(proven fact per DIY channel)...the bed..and they tend to miss what is on the floor, plus I need to crawl into a "made" bed at the end of the day..... loves2jump2 0 #8 March 31, 2006 Always, it’s habitual. Plus the cats like the fluffy down comforter when it’s all fluffed up.
sunshine 2 #9 March 31, 2006 I do. That way the cats will sleep on top of the blanket so if they puke up hairballs...it's not right on the mattress. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!

If I am away from home it doesn't bother me at all to leave the bed unmade.
yardhippie 0 #13 March 31, 2006 Just seems like wasted energy to me. My parents both being retired military attempted to beat that and other rediculous habitual things into my head. Like folding socks! WTH is that all about? I guess the way I look at things as long as its clean why should you make it? Unless we're havin company, then it just looks nice to have a bed made.Goddam dirty hippies piss me off! ~GFD "What do I get for closing your rig?" ~ me "Anything you want." ~ female skydiver Mohoso Rodriguez #

When I'm at home I'd say the answer is "it depends." I just got a new bedding set, so lately I've been making it (at least pulling the covers up... I don't tuck a damn thing in) so I can admire my new stuff. Other times it just depends on my mood, I guess.

karenmeal 0 #20 March 31, 2006 I make mine everyday. We don't use sheets and we don't have silly pillows, so it takes less than a minute. It is good for hiding the crap under the bed. I started my bed making habit when I lived in a tent. It made it a lot more homey. -Karen "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham

JENNR8R 0 #22 March 31, 2006 QuoteAlways. Crawling into an unmade bed at night is just icky. Why don't you make it up at night before getting into it then? I didn't used to make my bed unless guests were coming over... not that they ever went into my bedroom. It was just part of the 'nesting' routine that I went through preparing for company. I had an addition put on my house a few years back. Since the construction guys were coming over every day, I started to make it every day. That was years ago, and I'm still making it every day. I was just wondering why I'm still doing it? I have no clue. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.
