Need Help picking a B day gift for a 6-year-old girl.

Recommended Posts

She is not like a normal kid she never cried as a baby she is mature for her age.

I was thinking of getting her a microscope I loved mine as a kid and used it all the time, but I have never had sister or a daughter so I really suck at this.

I have no kids so I have no clue what the coolest thing is for a 6-year-old girl nowadays.

Thanks for the help. :)

Brats(TM) stuff. Um, or those cute lil' craft kits you can pick up in toy stores if she's crafty...ya know, make your own candles...make your own beaded necklaces...stuff like that.

Or if you want to be the man of the hour, buy her a pony. B|

-Actually, you might buy her an experience. A 6 year old might like to try a horseback riding lesson...or an ice skating lesson. -Just check with mommy and daddy, otherwise, you might be getting her interested in something the parents can't continue with if she digs it.

Those little kiddie baking appliances are terribly popular, too. I think they have a kids s'mores maker, a kids ice cream maker, and an Easy-Bake Oven of course, as well as a cotton candy maker. -Check for age appropriateness, however they sell those things at Toys R Us and Walmarts, too.

Learning toys are great too; you mentioned a microscope -she may be a smidgey young yet.

One other thing that is fun for that age is a a pop-up play tent. Those are GREAT play forts, don't take much to set up, and mom and dad can collapse it and put it away when not in use. I'd guess those types of kid tents run from $19-$39 depending on what you get.

And that age kid is starting to gain some balance and coordination; wheeled toys are fun at that age, too. Scooters, roller blades, etc. -Just make sure she has a helmet!

Just some thoughts. :)

For her 6th birthday, I gave my neice a pair of scissors and some running shoes.

My dive-buddy's daughter is 6yo.

Christmas - the Leap Frog learning toys

Birthday - framed pic of her hugging her dog

Last Saturday - we went go-kart racing with two of her cousins. (She was a passenger, but loved it)

Other - gift certificate for 4 to the local miniature golf place or a restaurant so that she can treat her parents.

Wal_mart carries a really nice temporary tattoo kit that eventually wears off after about 3 days....I gave one to a friend's 4 year old on a Saturday night. Sunday morning, right before church and after getting dressed for church, she walked out of her bedroom with a zillion tattoos all over her face, lol.

P.S. Mom wasn't too happy.

Ok, I just went through a 6yr old's B-day party at Chuck E. Cheese and these were the hot "girlie" items there: Anything involving My Little Ponies, Strawberry Shortcake, and Barbie Magic Pegasus.

If theres going to be a party, call the mom and ask what the "theme" is for this year...might give you some ideas as to what she likes.

But I like the ideas that have been science related thus far. The LeapFrogs are cool.I bought my niece one and she uses the crap out of it along with her siblings.

My daughter just turned 5. Her favorite gifts were:

A gardening kit.

What I call, "Boogie in a Bag". A tent with a sleeping bag, fold up chair, compas.

She already has a microscope. She loves it, but it requires an adults help.
