Johnsisland 0 #1 March 23, 2006 Might this be a picture of a previous president breaking a certain FAA reg? http://www.aerialfocus.com/bush.html Edit to add: OK, the pic is second row from bottom, or left side. Do the FAA regs apply to military jumps? Does the FAA cite people based on seeing pics of jumpers going through some industrial haze? Great to see the past pres jumping! Betting most of you have seen this before. Sorry if it's not a clicky. JJArch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
bigern13 0 #2 March 23, 2006 Even if he did go through clouds the FAA would punish the pilot that let them out over clouds, not the jumper. If I rememeber right the first offense is a 30 day suspension of his license. "I love 'lamp'." -SKYMAMA

BIGUN 1,405 #4 March 23, 2006 Doubt it. Course, I've always been curious if Glenn Bangs became Air Force One while in freefall with the President? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
coconutmonkey 0 #5 March 23, 2006 Actually the pilot AND the jumper can be fined.Hearts & Minds 2 to the Heart- 1 to the Mind- Home of the Coconut Lounge, Spa, & Artillery Range
bigern13 0 #6 March 23, 2006 I did not know that. Thanks for the info. I knew about the pilot because he is directly licensed through the FAA but did not realize the jumper could be fined. Any idea how much this would be? just curious. Thanks "I love 'lamp'." -SKYMAMA

Johnsisland 0 #8 March 23, 2006 QuoteNope. The designation of Air Force one only applys to sitting presidents We need a sitting president to jump, so a skydiver can be Air Force One. Not suggesting the sitting pres, I wonder if he wouldn't do a Lutz, but I sure would like a skydiver to be Air Force One. Or does that only apply to the plane, not the captain? But the president would be flying Air Force One, right? JeffArch? I can arch just fine with my back to the ground.
