"Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001
jumpwally 0 #53 March 21, 2006 Its funny how people think that because they don't have a song on the charts right now, they are washed up ! Hey ,they made their millions in the 80's and now are just havn' fun doing whatever,,thats not what i call washed up,,i call that smart !smile, be nice, enjoy life FB # - 1083
SkymonkeyONE 4 #54 March 21, 2006 Devo are a band from Ohio, not Britain and certainly not germany. Mark Mothersbaugh recently did the music for the Steve Zisou (underwater Jaques Coustau spoof) and it was bad ass. I was a huge devo fan as a teenager in the '70s. SkymonkeyONE 4 #55 March 21, 2006 QuoteQuoteI thought they were all washed up and nonexistent I think it was microsft that paid them a little over $1,000,000 for one reunion show a while back. Uncontrollable urge has to be one of my all time favorite songs. The first two devo albums were positively the best. Smart Patrol/Mister DNA, S.I.B. (swelling itching brain), Jocko Homo, etc. Fantastic stuff.
SkymonkeyONE 4 #56 March 21, 2006 QuoteHey ,they made their millions in the 80's and now are just havn' fun doing whatever,,thats not what i call washed up,,i call that smart ! Actually, they made their best music in the late '70s. I find it fascinating that the public only got repeated doses of Whip It in the early '80s, which I consider a pathetic example of their music. They tell us that we lost our tails evolving up from little snails I say it's all just wind in sails Are we not men? We are DEVO Mongoloid, he was a mongoloid he had one chromosone too many Mongoloid, he was a mongoloid and it determined what he could see And he, wore a hat and he, had a job and he, brought home the bacon so that no one knew... I could never forget those lyrics. Just like I could never forget the lyrics to The Sex Pistols' "Bodies" : Fuck this and fuck that, fucking all those fucking fucked up blacks She don't want a baby that looks like that, I don't want a baby that looks like that! Bodies....I'm not an animal.
