ryno1972 0 #26 March 10, 2006 I am a very strong believer in currency. If you do not jump often, your chances of getting hurt go way up. That has seriously bothered me over the last couple of years. Then I start to think of my 2 year old Cypress 2 sitting in my rig not doing anything!! Dammit, I spent $1275.00 on the freaking thing, I need to get my money's worth!glad to be here!! bob.dino 1 #28 March 10, 2006 How about next time you're taking the kids to the DZ, you book her into a spa for the day? Then the time after that, invite her to come with you, pack a picnic, and you only do a couple of jumps. Spend time introducing her to your friends so she feels welcome and not an intruder. From some of your responses it sounds like your wife doesn't have a lot of friends in the area and might be feeling a little insecure and needy. Help her find things to enjoy outside of yourself and the kids and you'll all be the happier. This advice is worth just as much as you paid for it . Guest 1010 #29 March 10, 2006 I let the reserve stuff go after E6/WOCS, it was up to 3 Tuesdays a month plus fri/sat/sun and usually some stuff to do on Monday after drill as well. It may work to have an agreed-to # of days per month for jumping, then you don't ask for more, and she doesn't ask for less ether (ie definition of "agreed-to"). If you get rained out, oh well. But, there is a saying that I've seen to be true -- "If Momma's not happy, nobody's happy" so do what it takes to keep your wife happy. (.02 from the single guy with many sisters-in-law.) You can have it good, fast, or cheap: pick two.
ryno1972 0 #30 March 10, 2006 I am going to hang in there for another 10 years or so...this will be my 14th year(with six active). I figure I will make at least 1SG or higher if I do not screw up.... The more rank you get, the more time and commitment it requires. I am the guy I used to make fun of 13 years ago....I used to think "what in the hell is up my Platoon SGT's ass today?????"glad to be here!!
Broke 0 #31 March 10, 2006 Quote It's funny, I rush out of work at six...most guys at work are rushing to get home to relax and drink beer. I rush home to knock out as many chores as possible so I have some free time on the weekends. Hey about what time is sunset load where you happen to be jumping.Divot your source for all things Hillbilly. Anvil Brother 84 SCR 14192
