Stout

So a little while ago I was at my local Micro Brewery, yes an hour away is local for me... lol. Anyway they usually have a Oatmeal Stout, however when I was there they had a Cream Stout. Let me say I like the way the Cream Stout tastes better than the Oatmeal Stout. Anyone else around here like stouts?

Tried a few but I keep on going back to the tested, tried, and true Guinness - my frosty beverage of choice for those end of a long, hot summer day, dump at altitude, kick back, and enjoy the sunset.

I'm so happy to see the resurgence of Micro-Brewery's. So tired of the piss water that the big breweries try to convince you is "good beer".
Hell, if they spent half their ad money on ingredients and technique they would have something there.

It's the advertising. Haven't seen too many Guinness commercials where the message is, if you drink this stuff, hot chicks in bikinis will be all over you.

Not sure why but I am reminded of once floating down the river in New Braunfels with some friends. We were hitting on a bottle of mescal and several high school aged girls floated by while flirting, "Heyyyy - Whatcha drinking??? "Mescal!" I yell back. "Mescal?" one goes. "What's that?" Tonight I'm drinking one of my homemade Porters, hopped and aged to perfection.

The microbrewery close to my home has a nice oatmeal stout, nitrogenated for the really creamy foam. The nitrogen is a harder touch to do at home.
