Getting you wisdom teath pulled

Recommended Posts

When I had it done I didnt want to do anything for about a week. Make sure the doc gives you some good drugs. Mine didnt want to give the good stuff but after 3 days of pain he did. It sucks and that the best I can say about it. I used a lot of ice on my face and listerine to try to keep the infection down so you dont get a dry socket. The doc will probably give you a oral rinse with your take home pack. Best of luck to you and enjoy watching tv for a few days.

you can jump before the weekend.

three hours after i had my teeth pulled i was eating mexican. but i was hopped up on valium (thanks to my doc) and high as a kite (thanks to my other doc)

When they pulled mine they let me watch a movie (with headphones) while the nitrous took effect. I highly reccomend Top Gun.;)

I was eating solid food, popcorn and soda at the movies the next day.

I had all four out at one time. All were impacted. My dentist was great.

He gave me a pain pill while I was still in the chair. If you keep the pain from starting, it is easy to manage. Once you feel it, you are fighting it. Rinsing with a warm saltwater rinse helps tighten up the gums and just feels good. Lots of ice packs to keep the swelling down also. I think I put it on for 15 minutes alternating sides every hour. I had no infection, dry socket or pain.

oh hell, i completely forgot about the operation. the doctor gave me nitrous first until i couldn't feel anything, then he injected me with something, and then he started making fun of me and said "he hears us, but he can't say anything, but he can't say anything" and he's going to bek nocked out in 5-4-3-2-1 ..." next thing i remember was "wakey wakey" ...

then the after ops drugs came ....

no pain at all....

Eh, it depends on how well you take it. I could have jumped a couple of days after I had them pulled, had I started jumping yet at the time. I was up and at 'em right away, though.

And the drugs are fun. :D

:( not happy. have to get my wisdom teath pulled next week.. all of them. anyone know if and how long i will have to not jump?

The navy Doc did mine when I was in Marine Corps boot camp. I still trained just as hard but no yelling for a week. That didn't last long either. All they gave me was 800 mg of Motrine. I suppose i could have still jumped if I was jumping then.

Holy shit, one of the worst experiences of my life.B| I had all 4 done at once. Whatever could go wrong, went wrong. I puked that night for 12 hours straight. Imagine gagging with about 20 stitches in your mouth. I also had a dry socket. They had to pull out the stitches early and shove about 20 feet of medicated gauze down there. If I remember correctly, I was completely fine after about 5 days.

Best of luck to you and take the advice about staying ahead of the pain.

hrmmm ok so i just booked it for next thursday and not looking forward to it even more than befor. I don't know what its liek gaging with stitches in your mouth but i do know what its like dry reaching with a broken rib

OK, to make you feel a bit better about it. When a good friend of mine had hers out, she was at a party that night and only had to take advil for the pain. Every situation is different.

So, I still have my wisdom teeth... is that a bad thing?

btw: I only have two.

If they're impacted it is. If not, no problemo.

Mine were taken out after my braces were removed. My ortho was concerned they would apply pressure on my newly straightened teeth.

I had mine pulled 2 years ago. Every one said it was going to be an awful experience so I was a little nervous but, It really wasn't that bad. The first day it was a little sore but by the third day I was eating solid food and by the end of the week I was back surfing and riding my horse. I never even need the Vicodin they gave me.
