Lolie 0 #1 March 1, 2006 [rant] Why are there so many freaking people out there who want to buy my gear, make me send them pictures of the 3-rings, the BOC, etc., and then after two weeks just completely stop returning my emails?? I keep getting my hopes up that I'm going to be able to get new gear, get it all picked out, and then have to back out on MY seller, because I haven't sold my stuff. And don't even get me started on the scammers. Every time I get an email from one of them, I get all excited until I get to the line about "currently vacationing in west africa." [/rant] Sigh. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become. wingnut 0 #2 March 1, 2006 you know you want to keep your gear you have now.... nothing trendier or cooller looking.... and it's practically teeny tiny already, don't say you want to go smaller! ______________________________________ "i have no reader's digest version"

Samurai136 0 #6 March 1, 2006 Since you are willing to sell your rig in parts, try listing them separately. OTOH, there will probably be some new jumper looking to buy some gear later this spring. Have you tried selling it on consignment at SDC?"Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken
Lolie 0 #7 March 1, 2006 Hey, it would be great for a big guy who's a new jumper. And I've always wished I could have a wingloading above .75. Or maybe I should advertise it as coming with free pictures of me wearing it naked. And I'm getting so desparate, I'm only half joking. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become. Lolie 0 #10 March 1, 2006 Quotethere will probably be some new jumper looking to buy some gear later this spring. Have you tried selling it on consignment at SDC? I thought of this, but I wonder if that would help much... I mean, if I'm having this much trouble selling it at this price, what are the odds of them selling it at a higher price (to get their commission)? Maybe I'll go that route anyway. Maybe I will try listing them separately. I'm just worried I'll sell a couple parts and not have enough to buy a new rig, and not be able to jump for awhile. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become. LawnDart21 0 #13 March 1, 2006 I've had more than one experience where prospective buyers will show tremendous interest, asking all kinds of questions, and asking for all kinds of pics and info, numerous emails back and forth. Then I get a reply that they want to buy it, but that they will only buy it for an amount redicously lower than what I am selling it for........... (Say for example, a year old container that I spent $1900 on and put less than 100 jumps on it, that I was selling for a very very fair $1200 that I was offered only $700 for after a number of emails back and forth.......). I have no gripe with someone having a price limit, but say in the first email: "I am only willing to pay "$xxx" amount." That way if I agree, cool, we can continue the discussion, or I will politely say "no thank you" It is bound to happen to any seller from time to time. For all the aggrevation though, the buyers that I did sell gear to, have all been really cool people and we had very successful sales experiences. Hang in there. -- My other ride is a RESERVE. lisamariewillbe 1 #14 March 1, 2006 I can understand it in that it must be annoying. However picking out gear esp when used is a very personal thing. Maybe you could just post more detailed pictures or something. Go into great detail about what it has and who it fits. I now dont even research a rig more if it doesnt say what size person it fits and such because its more annoying to me to send out a millon emails asking only to find out it wouldnt come close to fitting.Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this Sudsy Fist: but you're looking damn sudsydoable in this
Samurai136 0 #15 March 1, 2006 You're asking $1750 for the complete system. How much is the new gear you want to buy? Best package deals I've seen range from 3-4k, so you're already shelling 2k out of pocket for an upgrade... I dunno. He stated his offer up-front, I decided to accept it even though it was lower than I wanted to go, and he still decided not to. -Miranda you shall above all things be glad and young / For if you're young, whatever life you wear it will become you;and if you are glad / whatever's living will yourself become. Which is also part of the problem. I need to sell my gear before the guy I'm buying from sells the stuff I want.
