ryno1972 0 #30 February 21, 2006 I jump because I have had a life-long interest and obsession with aviation. When I was a kid I worked at an Air Museum in Kalamazoo MI. I was trying to get my private pilots license. I started a college program for aviation (to become a commercial pilot), but my parents refused to support me. I got mad, left home and joined the Army. 14 years later, a wife, 2 kids with one on the way, I cannot afford to fly, so I jump. I get a lot of satisfaction out of it, it is fun. I also enjoy the technical side of the sport. The attention to detail when packing, pre-jump inspections etc. appeal to me. Anyway, that is why I like the sport. Ryanglad to be here!! yamtx73 0 #31 February 21, 2006 QuoteQuoteI got into it as a means of relieving job related stress. I can't think of work if I'm busy having fun... Very similar for me. It helps you put your life in perspective. Now when people come up to me at work with an "emergency," I think, "An emergency is going through 1500 feet with nothing over my head, this is just a problem." That's exactly it, it's only an emergency if someone is bleeding or dying... otherwise it's just a minor inconvenience. Skydiving puts it all into perspective for me, the freefall time leaves me no time to let the little things bother me and once the canopy is open I'm busy enjoying the view and relaxing....The only naturals in this sport shit thru feathers... Squeak 17 #33 February 22, 2006 Where's the option "cause it's a truck load of fun" That's why I do itYou are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing?
Bolas 5 #34 February 22, 2006 Ignore my earlier response, I do it because I like to pack. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
cHoDaBoY 0 #35 February 22, 2006 I started skydiving a few years ago. Me and my girlfriend at the time started together. She only did 4 jumps and stopped and I continued on. Well it really bugged her whenever I went skydiving for the weekend. She would always be like "oh go ahead and waste all your money jumping out of stupid planes". It really bothered her that I loved the sport. Now alot of my motivation for the sport is because I know it really pisses her off. I will skydive till the day I die. Go waste your money on more shoes cry baby Q. Why do birds sing? A. Because they dont have to pack when they land
