rocketdog 0 #1 February 18, 2006 anyone know the names/links of an excellent restaurant around Atlanta area (see options below) my best friend moved to Atlanta & i wanted to get her a nice restaurant (no bistros) gift cert. for her b-day..... except i've never been! i was thinking along the lines of either 1) a chic, modern sushi bar 2) Mediterranean food (dunno this kinda food but she LOVES hummus) something with a cool or funky atmosphere! i'm assuming they're obviously going to be higher priced. THANKS!!! ~hollywood see the world! http://gorocketdog.blogspot.com

simplyputsi 0 #3 February 18, 2006 ummmm well I don't know if these fit those descriptions but bear with me. Rathbun's is rated very highly but it's mostly american. There is one midtown kitchen and two urban licks that might fit the med bill. I know there is a sushi bar called kima or akima or something like that. I did a search and could not come up with it. I think I'm not being much help to you. hmmm. Oh you could also try Nava. ok i suck. thought i'd give it a try though http://www.accessatlanta.com/restaurants/content/restaurants/index.html edit for a linkSkymama's #2 stalker -

chaoskitty 0 #5 February 18, 2006 You're probably thinking of RuSan's. There are several in ATL but the one in Buckhead is the one with the funky atmosphere. Lots of fun!
lilgirltep 0 #6 February 18, 2006 I work at one midtown kitchen and it would definitely suit your needs. But if your friend loves sushi maybe MF sushi would be the place. check out onemidtownkitchen.com twourbanlicks.com I live blocks from both of these places and just moved here myself but would be more than willing to helpLive simply and appreciate what you have. Ashtanga 0 #15 February 21, 2006 For Sushi go to Shout or Strip. Strip is a new restaurant at Atlantic Station. The owner of Shout just opened it too. Whoever said "Lobby" at Twelve Hotel doesn't know good food.

brierebecca 0 #17 February 21, 2006 My favorite sushi place in Atlanta is this tiny little restaurant called Sushimania. It's off Peachtree, the prices are not bad, and the sushi is amazing. And you can walk in on a Saturday night and sit down - I think because it's very little known. Ian and Katie took Travis and I there a few times. Very yummy.
