kelel01 1 #1 February 17, 2006 I want to quit one of my 2 jobs, b/c I don't like it very much (well, at all, really). However, I've only worked here for 2 months, and I know that if I don't stay for 6 (months), then I have to pay for my background check, which is $120. Knowing that, I think that they will be extremely pissed when I quit. What's the nicest way to do so (VERY soon and in person)? Can't e-mail, b/c we don't communicate that way. I don't even have my boss's e-mail addy. I mean, if they get mad, they get mad . . . I just want to minimize my risk.

leapdog 0 #3 February 17, 2006 Do you need the reference? If not get fired then you don't have to pay the background check. Icon134 0 #5 February 17, 2006 I've never been very good at quiting jobs... but I agree that you should probably just explain to them that the job stresses you out and it isn't healthy for you to continue working there. As for the $120 I can't imagine how they can charge you for something they've done voluntary in order to hire you... but that sucks.Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife... Hambone 0 #6 February 17, 2006 Is your boss a male...if so tell him you need to quite due to woman troubles...he won't ask any questions, and if he does threaten to sue for sexual harassment. Yeah...You need to grow up. -Skymama

simplyputsi 0 #9 February 17, 2006 This will only work if your boss is male. Go into his office, or wherever he is, forcefully and get him to stand up. Immediately kick him in the balls and scream you're all the fucking same. Go off on a rant on how men have brought you down and that you're sick and tired of being pushed around. Rant on about how you don't need it anymore and that you think you possibly could do major harm to men if you continue on the same path. Hopefully he will tell you that you need to leave at some point. Unless he screams you're fired!!! Either way you leave and never come back. If they call just ignore it. They will just think you've gone crazy and will hope to never see you again, well the women might want to shake your hand for kicking the boss in the balls. I take no responsibility if this lands you in jail.Skymama's #2 stalker -
mailin 0 #10 February 17, 2006 Hi Kelly! Sorry to hear that this job sucks for you - good idea to leave if its causing too much of a headache/problems. About that $120 - did you signs something that said you would have to pay that? Cause that sounds fishy to me... JenArianna Frances
Tonto 1 #11 February 17, 2006 Been there 2 months. (60 days) Need to stay 6 months (180 days) 120 days to go.. $120 to pay... Would you pay $1 a day not to have to go? tIt's the year of the Pig.
kelel01 1 #12 February 17, 2006 Yes. The hours suck ass, and the job is so frustrating at times. As for the $120, yes, I supposedly signed something saying that. I'm pretty bad about not reading contracts that don't make me nervous for some reason. I read some contracts from beginning to end . . . others, not so much. chaoskitty 0 #13 February 17, 2006 Call in sick this weekend. They might fire you. Take it from there. Start telling parents how ugly their babies are. Parents will complain. You'll get fired.
