picapau 0 #1 February 15, 2008 Please would any master rigger help me with the above situation: I bought a set of lines for a original sabre 120 from PD, but they sent to me a set 20cm (centimeters) longer than the originals I've got in my sabre, so I asked them about it and here is the answer: "I did ask about your lines being 20 cm longer than the originals. Line shrinkage occurs on a used lineset. Therefore your new lineset would be a little longer than the original lines on your Sabre 1 right now." Ps: I believe that line shrinkage can occurs, but 20 cm? My question is: if I do use this longer lines, will it interfere in the performance of the canopy? davelepka 4 #2 February 15, 2008 You're fine. If PD says that's the way it should be, then that's the way it should be. IF you are comparing them to your old lines, then that is your mistake. You may be able to locate a line trim chart in PDs website that will give you the correct measurements for a new set.

Cloudi 0 #4 February 16, 2008 I'll save you the trouble of searching through the website: http://www.performancedesigns.com/docs/linetrims/LS_120-170LT.pdf You can find the line trim for just about every PD canopy ever made on this page http://www.performancedesigns.com/support.asp?filter=sport and tons of other great info. Of course, PD is always an email or phone call away, so if you don't find what you're looking for on the website, real live people are always available to help. UDSkyJunkie 0 #8 February 16, 2008 QuoteThank you for advice. I'll look line trim chart in PD's website. Also note: canopy manufacturers quietly make small changes to airfoils and linesets occasionally. Your old set and your new set are not necessarily the same "version" especially on an older canopy like a Sabre. And further food for thought: my Sabre 135, which could use a reline, has end-cell lines about 4" (10 cm) shorter than my center-cell lines. That means some lines have shrunk 10 cm MORE than others... if the center-cell lines have shrunk 10 cm total, than yes, 20 cm of shrinkage may be possible."Some people follow their dreams, others hunt them down and beat them mercilessly into submission."
