Men and Nipple Piercings

I got both of them done. I like it, and my last girlfriend liked them a lot. Hurts like a bitch when they first do it, and then for the next couple weeks, when you fuck up and forget, and rub it with your arm or something. Keep it clean, and you shoudlnt have any problems with infection or anything like that.

Quoted for truth! I recommend you tape them down for the first few weeks when you go to bed. It helps to prevent them from getting bumped around.

I kinda figgered I'd have to tape 'em down or something while they healed up. No problemo with hair - I've got chest hair but it doesn't seem to grow much in that area.

As long as the ladies like it, and it's plus for me (most importantly-) I can handle the temporary pain.

Y'know, it's kinda fun going through a divorce, it gives me an excuse to do stuff like this!

Get them done with barbells instead of rings. They do take a bit more care when cleaning, but there's no need to tape (but they do bleed, so you'll probably want bandaids for a few days), and in most cases they heal better, because clothing tends to push the bottom of rings downward, and therefore push the top part forward, which encourages migration (this is much more pronounced in women, but it does occur in men too). Spend as much time without a shirt on as you can.

I got my left one done on June 19, 2005. My girlfriend has both of hers done, and we wanted me to have it, too.

She drove me to the place (storefront piercing/tattoo store) just in case I was all in pain afterward. I wasn't really worried. She kept asking me if I was nervous or scared and stuff, and I said I wasn't, but I was preoccupied with, "How AM I going to react?"

I resolved to show NO reaction to whatever pain it caused, and that's exactly what happened. I simply kept a stoic face, did not wince, grimace, exclaim, yell, scream, cry, or anything. I just watched him do it and kept silent and motionless. It was a pretty weird sensation/experience.

I like having it done. It's something to, well, fiddle with. I would NOT say that it creates some sort of additional sensation/sensitivity. Apart from psychological, I find no increase in erogenous feelings as a result of it. It's fun to have, though. I think it looks pretty cool.

So, go for it! Report back how it felt, okay?

Honestly, I was simply aware of it, and it felt a bit sensitive/sore, but really not significantly. I was cautious about it in the shower, but it really barely stung at all, and was not painful when I cleaned it.

The place where I had it done recommended BACTINE for it, because alcohol and hydrogen peroxide supposedly actually kill the cells that are supposed to be healing around it. You know, Bactine contains an analgesic called Lidocaine HCl. That may explain why it didn't hurt me so much. The label says "antiseptic and pain reliever."

But even the same night, when I was going to Walmart to get the recommended Bactine, it really wasn't bothering me. Can't say if I just have a high pain tolerance or something else.
