Sony HC 32 or HC40

Recommended Posts

I already answered this question ... on the camera forum ... many months ago.

Both HC32 and HC40 are good cameras, with almost identical external dimensions, so they should fit in the same D-boxes and Handy-Mounts.

HC40 has better resolution because it uses the same 1 megapixel CCD as the PC109.

I bought an HC40 a couple of years ago and I has provided great footage for 400+ Handy-Mount jumps.

I have the HC42 that does require the docking station. I don't believe the HC40 does.Pluses and minuses depending on your needs and personal taste. HC42 has true wide screen capability.

Isn't the docking station just needed in order to watch the video on say a tv? So if one is not included that means you can plug the cables directly from the camera to the tv right?

I'm curious, what is a handy mount? What size D box fits the camera?
