iluvtofly 0 #1 February 29, 2008 I know this topic has been discussed many times before. I was actually just looking through some of the past threads. I currently have a pair of Bobster Cruizer goggles with the interchangeable lenses. They worked just fine until I start playing around with doing head down. When I did that they had a tendency to flip down a bit and I'd lose a contact. I would love to have some goggles that are very similar to regular sunglasses. (you know...the whole 2 for the price of 1 thing) However, it tends to be hard to find sunglasses that fit my head. Is there any way I could try different kinds of goggles/sunglasses without having to constantly buy and return them?
firstime 0 #2 February 29, 2008 Good question, I tried a bunch of different goggles and came to the conclusion that just because it works for one person it may not work for you. I guess because they fit each person different. I had gorz that were good in head down but sucked in a sit. I just went with the student goggles with the yellow tint.. you can pull them pretty tight. They have worked fine, you won't win the fashion show but who really gives a rats ass
WhoseNuts 0 #3 February 29, 2008 I use Wiley X goggles. Their great sunglasses/goggles. They come with the frame that you can either attach to the head band or use with the little ear things for sunglasses. i have 2 pair. We get them issued to us for the military, but they can be ordered online. I used them when i first started my AFF, and my instructor wanted a pair so......... the nice guy i am... check into it? Agreed. Wiley X frames can accomodate most perscriptions (unless you wanted to wear contacts instead). Unfortunately my eyes are so bad that I have to use glasses of some variety to correct it. But if you live anywhere near a military base or have friends that are in the military then you might try seeing (pun intended) if they will hook you up. I think on base the frames with standard sunglass lenses are somewhere in the $100 range.Muff #5048

I got some Wiley X SG-1 V cut goggles with smoke and clear lenses, elastic strap, sunglass thingies and case for $69 at Edwards AFB. I went back to see if I could get another set for someone but they had all sold out. Awesome goggles, I love them.
