lisamariewillbe 1 #2 January 17, 2006 I am in total love with Dean Koontz and have quite a few books by him... I get the books the day they come out. I have noticed the last few years that his writing has changed and I love the difference. Favorite so far is "Odd Thomas" its a wow book to me.Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this Sudsy Fist: but you're looking damn sudsydoable in this
MooChooser 0 #3 January 17, 2006 I keep buying Dean Koontz books but I dont know why. I have read almost every book hes written but can only remember the tinyest fragment of a couple of his books. Im almost always disappointed by the weak endings. His books are all the same. Man and woman team up whilst on the run from evil, they fall in love then defeat their enemy. 70% of the time an unusually intellegent dog will make an appearence. Im reading one called life expectancy at the moment. I don't know why. Its rubbish. I think I have some sort of mental illness that makes me keep on buying his shite. lisamariewillbe 1 #4 January 17, 2006 thats like someone that continues to skydive but hates it ... makes no sense... or maybe we are being brain washed by the author? I get to meet him this coming June.... Ill ask him Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this Sudsy Fist: but you're looking damn sudsydoable in this

Seize the Night and Fear Nothing are pretty good too. I think my favorite might the The Taking. Velocity was great though I thought the final confrontations were rushed. I was actually going to post a thread on the specifics of what Billy was being forced to do to see what people would do themselves but I am shackled by inactivity. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
lisamariewillbe 1 #6 January 17, 2006 Yes forever Odd was a disappointment...when taken in the context of it being a sequal to one of his best written books in 2 decades. I do feel the stuff he has written over the past 5 years over - all has been excellant in the sense that it is a bit out of his norm. I will buy a book written by D.K. just because of the author (I know he has a love/hate relationship with buyers like me) , but I have found he is one of the few that disappoints me. Authors like John Saul , or Patricia Cornwell have at times disappointed me to where I barely look for their titles anymore.Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this Sudsy Fist: but you're looking damn sudsydoable in this
kingbunky 3 #7 January 17, 2006 i haven't read that one, but i have read several others by him. i really liked 'lightning', but then again i like books on time travel and how the author sets up the rules for time travel. he had an interesting take on it."Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." noblesmelissa 0 #8 January 17, 2006 Have not read that one yet but now I'll have to...I enjoyed "Lightning" and "Watchers" a lot...those are two of my favorites from him. Also "Life Expectancy" and "Tick Tock"...those were both fun, easy reads...

lisamariewillbe 1 #11 January 17, 2006 its the last 40 or 50 pages that suck, my as well stop reading when you get there now when I say suck, I mean it lightly, as in suck for him. I still thought it was a good bookSudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this Sudsy Fist: but you're looking damn sudsydoable in this

Blues, Dave I just think the storytelling method is radically different in the second than the first. The plot is not nearly as complex and involving for me either. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
altichick 1 #13 January 17, 2006 Dark Rivers of the Heart is the best one of his I've read. Trashy horror but un-put-downable! Don't sweat the petty things... and don't pet the sweaty things!
2fat2fly 0 #14 January 17, 2006 QuoteI keep buying Dean Koontz books but I dont know why. It's readily available and you know that it won't totally suck. That's why I read him. I've never been impressed but there's only so much a selection when I'm stuck in an airport The Velocity concept had great potential, I hate that the ending was so pat andthe moral quandry wasn't better explored.I am not the man.
