Since no one else posted this, What did you get for Christmas?

Recommended Posts

I have to say---I LOVE gifts.

But, this year, my entire family (who usually buys luxury gift items for one another) decided to donate whatever we wanted to charity and just get together for Christmas dinner--no gifts.

It was seriously the best Christmas ever. This could go in the obsessive-compulsive thread, but one thing that always stressed me out and makes me anxious is having a car full of things that I have to unload, unbox and put away, find a place for, etc. I LOVED not having to do that, even if it meant not getting the great items my parents usually spoil me with. It also meant not having to shop/think about a present for anyone. We had more time to talk, laugh, play with our dogs (we had a house full of 7 with everyone over) and drink---a LOT.

So, I have to recommend the no-gift thing. It's practical, it's easy, it's less stressful and it's not what Christmas is supposed to be about anways.:P

My wonderful wife got me a REALLY nice silk casual shirt (kinda like Charlie Sheen wears in 2 1/2 men), some new thermals (even here in So Cal it does get cold at altitude in the winter), a new pair of batting gloves (white and perfect for competition) PLUS $$ on account at the DZ AND at the Perris tunnel!!! I don't know how I ever got so lucky to find her but she's mine and I'm not giving her up! :)

I got some really cool stuff! Probably the best gift I got was a really nice down jacket. I don't think I've ever owned a really nice jacket and I am always bitching and moaning about how cold I am. Well this thing is so warm I'm in heaven going out now.

I also got Sirius radio for my car which is another really thoughtful thing because I commute 2 hours a day and really wanted it.

Got some 1000 thread count sheets that I absolutely love!

Got a photo printer that I can connect my camera to directly and edit and print photos on.

Autobiography of a Yogi on CD
CD of Poker tips
A Burts Bees bathroom gift set
socks
cutting board
avocado slicer
nitrous
pot holders
Henckel chopping knife

hmm...what else? Well we also got our kitties a stocking each filled with fun stuff but my favorite thing is this lazer light pointer. One of our cats, the more timid one, goes absolutely ballistic for this thing. She runs in circles and all over the place chasing it. Then she stands guard in case it comes back. Sooo funny.

It was the nicest Christmas ever. My man is such a thoughtful guy. I'm so lucky!

I was hoping SOMEBODY would say they got a Red Ryder BB Gun, so I could say, "You'll shoot your eye out !" I'm so disappointed....

I got a nice warm vest, the new Cream at Royal Albert Hall CD, some DVD's, and jump money. AND my younger daughter crocheted me a little Teddy Bear flying a crocheted canopy colored exactly like mine. Now that's how to make a dad feel special !

Ok ... in addition to the deer-smashed front end of the van (it can be fixed, and my no-deductible comprehensive covers Vixen strikes) I got a 4-color ballpoint pen that says, "Dad's" on it. When you know that your 8 year old picked it out and bought it with his own money, that's a great present!

For some odd reason my mother got me two Mr. Potato Heads. See Photos.

"Well, yeah, I do like Star Wars...."

It all evens out though. I got dad an RC trick car which he immeadiately put to good use chasing cats around the house.;)
