Should we be able to vote someone off of DZ.com??

Recommended Posts

If someone comes here just to cause trouble and keep things stirred up,make rude and worthless comments and generally makes an ass out of themselves should we be able to vote to have them removed from DZ.com?Like some of the tv shows. If so how many votes should it take?
In your comments please address the following.Should it be a public or private vote?Which Mod should recieve the votes?;)

Please note multiple answers allowed for yes/no vote and the number required.

IMO if you don't reply back to the people, then they won't continue to "stir the pot." If you reply back to them, or create a thread just for them, they are getting the attention they want.

In other words, just ignore the posters that bug you.

On the other hand, I love sitting back and watching who gets sucked in. IT'S THE INTERNET PEOPLE!

it's already done. As a we , we don't get to vote, But of course we have the moderstors, and behind them is HH. So when the time comes. POOF there gone until they can eat crow, and WALK THE LINE.

I surly am in this catagory I'll kill a thread in a sec, or noone will post. personally you need the one liners, those are the people who see it for what it is.

my vote is "NO" makes for good reading, besides you ain't bored with all that stupid shit they post on here sometimes. We could use some good drama. The thing is people around here take things out of context very quick.

Keep um commin. I still nominate cocheese for showing us his boobies and wearing thong. Oh and I'll up the anty in a pair of pink heels.:D

I voted no.

First, the owner of the board and his delegates are--and should be--the only persons who get to make such a decision. I don't always agree with how things are done here, and I have expressed that to some mods in PMs and once or twice in a post, but given that Sangiro pays the freight and the moderators do the work, I think they are well within their rights to do whatever they want, no matter how wrong I--or anyone--think them to be. The fact that those in control try very hard to follow the stated rules regardless of their personal feelings is to their credit. If you allow for a board-wide referendum to control, the only thing that can happen is that all hell will break loose.

Second, not everyone has recurring encounters with the personality disordered, and they are therefore most vulnerable to the predations of the PD because they lack experience. But we're all going to come across at least one or two in a lifetime, and if we have something to compare the real-life people to, perhaps we will be quicker to see how we're being manipulated.

I know who inspired this post, and I can tell you that from very early on, he has been a deja-vu experience for me. All in all, I'm glad he showed up, because my first time around with such a person, I fell for "humor as a mask for irredeemable meanness" and it did a lot of damage in my life to accept such behavior as normal--always looking for the good that I expected to find under the obnoxious and repelling exterior. People tend to repeat their bad experiences until they get them right. Being able to take the random shot here and there has been quite satisfying to me, but the best part is that I'm not the only person who sees him for what he is. I didn't get that kind of affirmation the first time around, and it was very hard to deal with. To know that others are aware this is not the way people are supposed to act is comforting.

So, as I said, no. There are too many good reasons for not voting someone off the board, and everyone has a killfile of the mind, if they choose to use it.

Trolls try to make others as unhappy as the trolls are in their tiny cold hearts. I can't understand people like that.

Most skydivers realize that it is a small world.
Personally, I try to never say anything to a person on the internet that I wouldn't say to them in person.

If a person is a continual internet jerk, I cut them out of my real-world life as well. I don't need them.
