ducatigirl996 0 #1 December 23, 2005 OK guys and gals.... here is the scoop I need you help to show a girl a good time! I just moved back home from Philly and for New Years my old roomie is coming to visit me. She and I would like to do something special so I thought what better than a balloon ride... and jump. I have all my gear here but she does not. I have been unsuccessful getting anyone on the phone at the Skydive operation in Burque. Does anyone have any gear I could rent off them or know if Skydive NM does that sort of thing??? Preferably a chute and that opens would be nice... I like my roomie! shall555 0 #2 December 23, 2005 Hiya, Skydive New Mexico is normally pretty active, but I believe they're closed this weekend ( the 24th and 25th ). They're planning balloon jumps ( as well as the regular C-182 jumping ) January 7th. You may want to PM skysprite on this site for info. BTW, Skydive NM has rental gear available. Fun bunch of people, too. shall
bch7773 0 #3 December 24, 2005 You've already found a hot air balloon operator that will let you jump out? Because usually a standard hot air ride giver won't let you jump out of one. MB 3528, RB 1182

An operator ? There's a whole balloon club that's apparently working with the DZ to do the balloon jump day in January! From what I hear, they're as jazzed about having jumpers aboard as the jumpers are to go. And yes, New Mexico is a hotbed of balloon activity. Every fall, the Albuquerque Balloon Festival is a big deal. They have hot dogs and everything. shall
ducatigirl996 0 #6 December 24, 2005 Quote You know I was thinking the same thing but on first email back this guy said for the last few years he was up in Rantoul dropping skydivers at the World Freefall Convention and would do it. Now I just need the gear. If anyone else is in NM and wants to go up too it should be a fun morning! On a side note, I totally miss the Intl. Balloon Fiesta... its such a sight to see and with all the mexican food out here you should be able to eat better than a hot dog!!!
