I see some students that come to the drop zone that have never made a jump ever and it scares me to observe them and see how much they think they know when they really don't. I think that I have a pretty okay understanding and respect for the sport. And I hope that if a 16 year old shows up ready to jump without that respect or understanding that the drop zone owner or whom ever in charge of the AFF program would re think letting them jump. So yes you are right 16 may not be the right age for everyone but for second and even third generation skydivers who have grown up in the drop zone atmosphere I think 16 is the perfect age.
