I'm going to go see it... but in a different way. Violet Crown Radio Heard about this on the news the other day, and figured I'd check it out. I remember my mom use to love the old radio programs. pincheck 0 #3 December 5, 2005 Getting a bit fed up with re-makes of old movies god knows how many time this has been resurrected. show a lack off imagination on the film makers part. Billy-Sonic Haggis Flickr-Fun
highfly 0 #4 December 5, 2005 Well this one is looking like a good one for a change. All the reviews so far are saying that its the best one of the 3. I have seen all of the KK films and to be honest I think the best one is gonig to be this one. I saw the 70's remake in a little Cinema in India in the middle of the jungle in a place called Kumily. When the cinema turn the projector on the whole of the village lights dimmed. He he Even though half of the Indians couldnt understand it they all gasped when Faye Dunaway was getting soaked in the waterfall. Some films are best left dead as the original, but there are some that do need ressurecting too. www.myspace.com/durtymac
riddler 0 #5 December 5, 2005 There have been enough versions of King Kong that I'm not sure what the "original" whould really be.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
NWFlyer 2 #6 December 6, 2005 QuoteAll the reviews so far are saying that its the best one of the 3. That's surprising since from the trailer it looked *awful*. But then, again, there have been so many movies that are just the opposite..."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. thegreekone 0 #7 December 6, 2005 QuoteQuoteAll the reviews so far are saying that its the best one of the 3. While I am a fan of Peter Jackson (way BEFORE LOTR stuff, btw), I am not sure that is saying much. QuoteThat's surprising since from the trailer it looked *awful*. But then, again, there have been so many movies that are just the opposite... all previews are made the same way, trying to appeal to as many different people as they can. unfortunately, they all look, sound, and try to seduce in the same way. Every preview I saw was awful the last time I went to the movies.
 JohnRich 4 #8 December 6, 2005 Quoteare you going to go out and see it?. What is so great about this re-make that would make it worthwhile to see, given that we already know the story, and have already seen two other versions, not to mention "Son of Kong" and other silly offshoots? I'm going to need convincing, to spend money on this ape.
