Best & Worst Christmas Songs

Recommended Posts

Best: The Kinks "Father Christmas"

Worst: That fucking "grandma got runover, hit or fucked by a reindeer" song. That shit is just plain ignorant unless you're from Tennessee.

279 songs now in the Boogie Child Music Holiday Library

Everything from Rat Pack to South Park, and from Royal Philharmonic to RUN-DMC Including the original How the Grinch Stole Christmas as read by Boris Karloff.

Two crosschecks reveal NO mention of the word Granmda

(I won't even play the song for money, as it fills me with the desire to beat a redneck to a bloody paste with a burning yule log. ...And I don't need ANOTHER reason to feel that way.)

If I DJ at The Farm Xmas Boogie it will not be heard.

*Songs in bold face indicate Christmas music you can actually have SEX to
**Songs in italics indicates that they just make me PISS myself:D

And the original Feliz Navidad was by Jose Feliciano, but I like this version better. ....it's REGGAE:DB|

PS If anyone knows where I can find Wayne Newton's Jingle Bell Hustle (not ROCK, HUSTLE) it's too perfectly cheesy not to have in my library

Simply, positively the worst is "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time" by Paul McCartney. Sir Paul should be shot for that one.

If he got away with that putrid "Freedom (You can find my new CD single at Wal-Mart on 9/12/01)" song, he can get away with anything.

My favorite is "O Holy Night", as long as it is sung well.

Best rendition ever - Eric Cartman

for a rock christmas song, 'takin' care of christmas' by bachman turner overdrive, as far as traditional, i have a boney m christmas album that is pretty good from end to end. since i avoid malls from mid november on, i'm usually not sick of carols by the time the holiday actually gets here, so i will play it on christmas day.

Favorite ones:

Holly Jolly christmas: burl Ives
Merry christmas Darling: The Carpenters
White christmas: Bing crosby
Animal's rendition of the Little Drummer Boy (If I remember correctly, The muppets weren't able to finnish the skit intact)

Sucky ones:

Any christmas song by Celine Dion. She manages to put her patented "overdrama voice" in every song>:(

I can't believe no one has mentioned the Paul McCartney song "...simply having a Wonderful Christmas Time!'

I did, but maybe it was in a different thread.

BTW, I agree with Kallend on the Stevie Nicks version of 'Silent Night'. That one is really bad.
