I've been on both sides of that scenario and both are really painful--one from an unsatisfied deep yearning for something that will never be, and the other from deep guilt for being a source of heartbreak.

She really does put on a great show. I saw her a while back in Houston (The Woodlands) along with Lyle Lovett.

I was really surprised at just how good Lyle Lovett was.

Naturally, Bonnie Raitt's show was outstanding. For all I know, she may be a totally evil bitch from hell offstage (I really doubt that, though), but she really does project a lot of warmth during her show and she is really, really talented.

I agree with our national anthem. Every season at the last regular season home game, the baseball Cardinals do not pay anyone to come in and sing the anthem. The organist gets the song started and then you and 50,000 of your closest friends sing it a capella. I get goosebumps just thinking about it.

Lyle, IMHO, is one of the most underrated performers out there. Those who know him love him, and those who don't love him just haven't seen him live yet.

I think he suffers from a "where does this guy fit?" problem. He's too hip for country; he's too twangy for most rock/pop stations, and he doesn't fit solidly into any category, really. Go to a Lyle show and you will hear blues, country, gospel, folk... sigh.

i just like to look at lyle. it cracks me up, his hair, long face, crooked smile. he's crazy looking, and knows it. and then that voice comes out.

I think you're right. He really isn't a good fit for any category. He's in a class all by himself. Like Bonnie Raitt, he really projected a lot of warmth at the show where I saw them. He seemed to be all about the music and the show and NOT anything about marketing some fake-ass image. Very, very talented and I'd like to see him again sometime.

I agree with Bobbi....I normally think Rascall Flatss are a bunch of whining "really need a good swift kick in the nuts by John Wayne" babies, but I love the new one they put out called Skin.
