Broke 0 #78 December 6, 2005 OK only because no one has mentioned the Dead yet in this thread. "Bird Song" - Grateful Dead I heard The Other Ones play this one at Further feast, and I'll admit that it did bring a tear to my eye. I just makes me think about how much I missed by not actually going to a dead show, because I was like well I'm broke now I'll get them the next time around. Then Jerry died. I don't know why this song in particular strikes me as being emotional, but it does. "I Want You Round" - The Ramones Man I miss The Ramones :~(Divot your source for all things Hillbilly. skygazer 0 #92 December 6, 2005 Well, I have not posted for awhile but had to add my two cents! John Groban - To Where You Are. I heard it right after my Mom died - when it is my time, it's the song I want played. Who can say for certain Maybe you’re still here I feel you all around me Your memories so clear Deep in the stillness I can hear you speak You’re still an inspiration Can it be (? ) That you are mine Forever love And you are watching over me from up above Fly me up to where you are Beyond the distant star I wish upon tonight To see you smile If only for awhile to know you’re there A breath away’s not far To where you are Are you gently sleeping Here inside my dream And isn’t faith believing All power can’t be seen As my heart holds you Just one beat away I cherish all you gave me everyday ’cause you are mine Forever love Watching me from up above And I believe That angels breathe And that love will live on and never leave Fly me up To where you are Beyond the distant star I wish upon tonight To see you smile If only for awhile To know you’re there A breath away’s not far To where you are I know you’re there A breath away’s not far To where you are Also, "Oh Holy Night" just sets me to tears. It is so what Christmas is about._______________________________________

SudsyFist 0 #94 December 6, 2005 Aight, since I'm welling up listening to The Final Cut right now... Pink Floyd - The Gunners Dream Floating down Through the clouds Memories come rushing Up to meet me now But in the space between the heavens And the corner of some foreign field I had a dream I had a dream Goodbye, Max Goodbye, Ma After the service, when you're Walking slowly to the car And the silver in her hair Shines in the cold November air You hear the tolling bell And touch the silk in your lapel And as the teardrops rise to meet the Comfort of the band You take her frail hand And hold on to the dream A place to stay Enough to eat Somewhere old heroes shuffle Safely down the street, where you can Speak out loud about your doubts and fears, And what's more No one ever disappears, you'll never hear their standard issue Kicking in your door You can relax On both sides of the tracks, and maniacs Don't blow holes In bandsmen by remote control And everyone has recourse to the law And noone kills the children anymore Noone kills the children anymore Night after night Going round and round my brain His dream Is driving me insane In the corner of some foreign field The gunner sleeps tonight What's done is done We cannot just write off his final scene Take heed of the dream Take heed
