If she's coming up to two years old, it's beyond time. It's a relatively simple procedure, and she should be fine within 48 hours of the surgery (except for the stitches). I'd suggest you schedule an appointment now rather than later. It's more expensive to do it while the animal is in heat, so it's also cheaper to do it before she enters heat again (and studies have shown it's safer, too, to do it while she's not in estrus). As for the link being disgusting, I didn't see it (and frankly, I don't have any desire to...). Just trying to give a bit of info for you.
