Aside from Alabama (which is a given), the team I really don't like is Florida. B|

Oh, AMEN brutha! I can't even cheer for my buddy's fav team the Redskins because of Spurrier (is he still the coach? I don't really follow pro ball)

I don't follow pro ball very closely either. However, I think Spurrier quit, got fired, or something. Could be wrong. He should have kept his other job. I used to like seeing him get all pissy with his temper tantrums and thrown his sun visor down on the ground. B|

That guy's a douche. And I don't use that insult lightly.

Anyway, I'd just like to like give a big Auburn fight song in honor of the advent of the college football season - may it be a great and memorable one!!!

War Eagle, fight on the field,
Ever to conquer, never to yield!
War Eagle, fearless and true,
Fight on, you orange and blue!
GO! GO! GO!
On to vict'ry, strike up the band,
Give 'em hell! Give 'em hell!
Stand up and yell, HEY!
War Eagle, win for Auburn,
Power of Dixieland!

The only time I’ve personally witnessed my Dad get into a fistfight was at an Auburn – Florida football game at Auburn stadium (Jordan – Hare). This VERY obnoxious Florida fan was sitting in front of us (my Mom, Dad, and two Aunts (my Dad’s sisters)). Every time Auburn would do something good, he’s stand up, hold up both hands, display two “birds”, spin in a circle and say “screw Auburn.” That went on for a while till one of my Aunts told him to sit down and shut up. He proceeded to call her a bitch. As soon as the word came out of his mouth, my Dad cole cocked him on the jaw and knocked him into the next row of seats. There was no response and we were lucky enough not to have been seen or escorted out by the police. Auburn went on to beat Florida! SEC football rocks!!! B|

Dude, NOBODY better say that to an Auburn lady, in Auburn, IN JORDAN-HARE stadium. It's just not proper or Southern. (I'm a non-Southerner, and I know this.) Good for your dad.

The Alabama game gets a bit rowdy sometimes too. My then-boyfriend and his buddies painted a big sheet and hung it off of a bridge on the highway to Auburn, facing Tuscaloosa. It said something inflammatory, like "Alabama sucks" or "We're gonna kick Alabama's Ass" or "Alabama = Losers"
Yeah, they hightailed it outta there when a big, mud-covered dually (sp?) screeched its tires and a couple of Tuscaloosa's biggest, dirtiest rednecks started towards the bridge... (my friends weren't big, but they weren't dumb, either)

Yeah...We've got our share of big, dumb, corn fed, tractor racin', funny talkin', guys in Auburn too. Just like in Tuscaloosa. Now, if we can just recruit them all to play for Auburn. I don't care if they can talk. ;) B|

True dat. Bless their hearts...

My two favorite teams are Auburn and ANYONE playing Alabama. Even if Auburn lost every game of the season leading up to it, if we beat bama then it's all good.

Can I get another "Amen"?

AMEN!!!

For the second day in a row, I'm really loving this place!!

It's just not a proper AU vs LSU game without a certain amount of freakyness and/or controversy (such as the year the AU campus was burning down in the background while we played the game). I guess when it turned out that Ivan wouldn't cancel the game, they had to come up with a 'Plan B' to inject the proper amount of strangeness for the series. I bet we missed that first extra point on purpose, because the game was coming to a close, and we didn't have anything controversial yet.

OMG! There really is a striking similarity!

AU: Conference, 2-0; Overall, 3-0

B|

Not a bad start, is it?

Not bad..., however, last weekend was just set up to pad our record. Not very competitive. This weekend will be, though. If they can go to Knoxville and beat TN, I think we'll know if they're the real deal or not. The rest of the season will still be very tough but I think TN will be the test. Just to prove that LSU wasn't a fluke. I know we've got the talent. I just need to see that they can hold it together. I thought that picture was hillarious. They look almost identical. :D

anyways, hate to burts the bubble, but
***The Citadel
Tennessee (away)
Louisiana Tech
Arkansas
Kentucky
Ole Miss (away)
Georgia
Alabama (away)

of those 8 games you are going to only win 5. No way on georgia, or alabama( that is always one hell of a game) and then i think that you gusy are going to fall to tennessee as well. Call me bitter, but i know l=football! ;)

You were saying?? :D

I just wanted to send a big WAR EAGLE!!! to all the Auburn fans out there!!! Woo hooo!!! We embarassed poor Tennessee in their own stadium on Saturday, 34-10. They didn't stand a chance. It was beautiful.

We're 5-0 so far, which is an awesome way to start the season! Let's hope they keep it up.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled workday. B|

I watched that game. Auburn is looking "good!" I said before that Tennessee would be a test of validity. Whether the victory over LSU was just a fluke or not. I still wonder, however, why LSU lost so badly to Georgia this past weekend. I was surprised. I figured GA would win but not that decisively. Either GA is head and tails better than anyone else within their range or LSU has just lost heart. I tend to think the latter but it still makes me wonder. I also wonder why Tennessee was ranked as high with 2 freshman quarterbacks. They did beat Florida, though, and I guess their performance so far this year was impressive. Also, despite their ineffectiveness on offense, they've got no excuse on defense. Campbell, Williams, and Brown ate their lunch and took them to school Saturday night, though. Made it look like the game was a mismatch. Despite crzjp20’s “expertise” in this area, I think we’re gonna beat the shit out of Alabama this year. In fact, I think we’ll win the rest of our games with Georgia being the only unknown. We play Georgia in Auburn this year and I…will be…there!!! I think Auburn is up to the test and will be a contender for the National Championship this year. I think, after watching them on TV and in person this year, that they’re the real deal. I think Georgia’s going to have a job on their hands. We’re in the top 10 to stay!

WAR EAGLE! B|

blah blah blah.... they just got lucky....

lol

ok so im wrong so what lol. After watching them against tennessee i think my opinion has changed. When they play georgia for the first time this year we will see how good they really are. ( i say first time cause they will most likly meet in the sec champ. game)

man lsu looked bad huh?!?!? well i guesse that is what happens when your QB top 2 recievers, and half of the offence line graduates or goes pro.

anyways, so i admit i was wrong, but i still dont think they will beat gerogia, but it will be one hell of a good game. we will just have to see.

now i am going cry cause i am an idiot

I don't think so. Just wrong on occasion.

B| :P ;)

AU vs. GA is going to be a killer. I'm so glad I've got tickets. Good ones too. 6th row upper deck, 40 yard line. I'm pumped! :)

I'm jealous!!!

My wife went to the game. It sounded like UGA had a very good game, and LSU had a mediocre one. Still, I'd agree that UGA was the better team.

Out of family loyalty, I must reply "woof!"

When we moved to Idaho, my wife was amazed (and incredibly happy) that "UGADAWG" was not taken as an Idaho license plate. She'd only lived in Georgia and Alabama before (and good luck getting any combination like that in either of those places).

Whoever wins the Georgia-Auburn game (which sounds like a pretty good guess for the SEC title matchup as well) is definitely going to be a strong contender for the national championship.

yeh lsu got wipped.... to put it frrankly

they have some real issues this year, but that happens when you have several key players leave. And they are developing a new QB that is going to be amazing, but needs time to mature under center and what not. Not to mention that 3 out of the 4 top recievers are ehter freshamn or sophmores...

no big deal they got beat bad, and hopefully next year they will have some domanice again. I am just glad that another SEC team is so powerful this year, and not some big east team or something like that..... any wyas

ok ok i love football

I got Tix for next weeks game. I'll be up there with a group of friends from work.

I hope the Arkansas/Matt Jones jinx doesn't bite us on the butt again. :P

I left on Friday to go to Auburn. Went to the game on Saturday. We kicked butt! Auburn is seriously looking sharp! We just need for one of the top 3 to screw up. Got nowhere to go right now. Sucks! We'll most likely be in the SEC Championship game this year, though. It's turning out to be a VERY good season. We drank much beer, played music really loud, and danced on tables at the tailgate party. It was a LARGE time! WAR DAMN EAGLE!!! B|

I ran across this story on ESPN.net regarding the remaining undefeated teams, and what they each have ahead of them.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=1903807

Both Oklahoma and Miami have two ranked teams each left to play. And I think Oklahoma will have to play a conference championship, but I could be confused about that.

I'm tempted to come up for the Georgia game whether or not I have tix, but I'll have to wait and see.

So far, I don't feel like the BCS has broke when it came to sorting out undefeated teams, although it has come close on several years. Last year, it had trouble with the teams with one loss, which is another issue.

But I guess there will be a few more teams I'll be interested in watching over the next few weekends until this sorts itself out.
