Barrel rolls on big ways: Was - Fatality - Z-Hills, FL

Recommended Posts

I remember a conversation I had with Mel at Elsinore about de-arching, and she stated as well that it's an unstable position, because you're cupping, and spilling air.

I'm fairly good at tracking already, although I haven't taken any skill improvement courses to get it better. Even my first track in AFF my instructor told me during the video debrief that most students don't track that well on their first attempt. Since then, I've gotten more comments, some from coaches, and some from other jumpers, saying that I track really well. My favorite comment had to be:

"Well, you suck at freeflying, but man you can track!"
Skydiving: You either learn from other's mistakes, or they'll learn from yours.

Did you see the link to the pictures that Kallend posted?

It is a great example of tracking on break off from a bigway ranging from a bad example to really good, to exceptional trackers.

It also shows which direction you should turn when breaking. Everyone should turn to the middle of there line. At least that is the way for this type of line.

Everyone does a really good job of cuping air and floating up as they break and turn except jumper #1. Jumper #1 is, well having issues. Jumper #5, which is Kallend is obviously doing the best job on this example, but you can really see people turning and getting into there tracks in the right way. With the exception of #1. Who, by the end of the sequence is now in the way of the 2nd wave and way lower then everyone else.

Prime example of why one SHOULDN'T take ~Internet Advise~.

On the contrary. Look at this thread. Im quite sure the OP and others reading have learned from this thread. Something that might not had happened if "this advice" was given 1on1 in real life.
