They're good but they wouldn't hold up playing what SEC teams have to face every year. WAR EAGLE!!!
kelpdiver 2 #7 November 21, 2005 QuoteI would like to invite USC & Texas to the SEC Conference & see if they would still be undifeated. At least the viewer would see some touchdowns scored. I mean, if Al Borges can make Auburn an offensive power after failing miserably in the Pac, what does it say about the SEC defenses? I'd also like to take this opportunity to encourage the SEC to schedule away OOC games. It's a lot easier to go undefeated when you play 7 home games with I-AAs sprinkled in. You don't see USC pulling that shit - they played 2 top 20 teams in their OOC slate. Oh, and beat the crap out of Arkansas.
Lindercles 0 #8 November 21, 2005 Ok, no one can deny that the Big XII is down this year, but that's no reason to count it out altogether. Let's not forget that the Big XII has been one of the powerhouse conferences of that last 10 years, and while it may only produce one or two contenders each season, it's perennially a strong conference top to bottom. This Texas team may have had a bit of an easy trip through the Big XII this year (with 3 top 25 opponents), but it cut it's teeth on much harder teams. They didn't get to be this good playing powderpuffs. And the Big XII will be back, let there be no doubt.
lawrocket 3 #9 November 22, 2005 QuoteI would like to invite USC & Texas to the SEC Conference & see if they would still be undifeated. Well, I'm sure that Pat Hill, coach of Fresno State, has already graciously extended an invitation to any SEC team to put the Bulldogs on the schedule. In fact, I'm sure the invitation has been extended including the part about willing to travel TO any SEC school to play. The Bulldogs will take on Auburn or Bama or LSU or Georgia. They'll even come on out to your neck of the woods to play and save you the travel time. Unfortunately, he talk now is that any team with championship aspirations would be better off not scheduling Fresno as an interconference game. Personally, I'd love to see it go back to the days before the BCS - like when Florida State was independent and could still get a good bowl bid. Trust me - I'm no Fresno State fan. But, we gotta see if any team from the SEC wants to go the way of Kansas State. My wife is hotter than your wife.

They're good but they wouldn't hold up playing what SEC teams have to face every year. And that is why Florida State balked at the invitation to join the SEC when it was looking to expand to 12 teams. What a bunch of wimps. Then again, the ACC conference is now starting to get pretty tough with Miami, GA Tech, Virginia Tech, Clemson and Boston College, to name a few...
