shropshire 0 #1 November 25, 2005 He finally lost the battle today. I'm not too much of a footie fan, but this man is a icon, sure he had issues (dont we all?) but was one of the best to ever kick a ball... Safe home George. (.)Y(.) Scoop 0 #2 November 25, 2005 Yeah, good on you for being good at your profession I too, am not a football fan and I find it ironic that the media has hounded him for so long and now hes died hes a 'hero' Even so, he done us proud so peace out old man
Andy_Copland 0 #3 November 25, 2005 Im a big football fan and im trying my best to think about how good he was but i cant help but think that the liver he recieved could have went to better use. Not an alcoholic who abused it again.1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.

Very good point we were just discussing that actuallyhttp://www.skydivethefarm.com do you realize that when you critisize people you dont know over the internet, you become part of a growing society of twats? Andrewnewell 0 #5 November 25, 2005 Give two Shits! Yeah such a great bloke, abusing his position as a so called Icon. All that effort sustaining that one man when there are surely more deserving people in the country. What did he do again? Oh yeah thats it, He was pretty niffty at playing foot ball!!?? Waste of time, money and other peoples sacrifice. Seems a little ironic that the weekend he does one, all the boozers are open for 24 hours! Thinking Imay come across a little harsh. F**k It! Tonto 1 #6 November 25, 2005 Well, there's living, and there's waiting to die. George lived. At the last World cup he was working as a commentator. Some smart Alec Journo said "Hey George! You were one of the first to make it big in profesional football. What happened to all that money?" George answered, "Well, most of it went on Booze and women... and the rest of it, I squandered!" skytash 0 #7 November 26, 2005 Approx 15% of livers end up going to people who start drinking again, so it wasn't just George. His surgeon also passed the first liver which matched on to someone else so that no-one could ever accuse George of getting preferential treatment. He was a great footballer and it is sad that his life ended the way it did. tashDon't ever save anything for a special occasion. Being alive is a special occasion. daniel_owen_uk 0 #8 November 26, 2005 Probably the best british footballer ever, all the issues about the medical treatment aside, really sad to see him go. R.I.P__________________ BOOM Headshot
bianuan 0 #9 November 28, 2005 People with depression do all sorts of things, suicide, eating themselves to death, drinking themselves to death etc They all deserve treatment, even the famous ones. RIP Georgie BestAnn
gjhdiver 0 #10 November 28, 2005 Quite simply, the most gifted man ever to kick a football. Simply sublime. Even Pele said he was better. I don't care what he did with his new liver. True genius always comes with flaws, most of them self destructive.
