ger 0 #1 May 6, 2008 Ok before everybody tell's me to use the search function - i have but couldn't find the specific answer I was looking for so please don't shout. Can anyobdy tell me does a looser fitting nylon fronted jumpsuit slow down the fall rate much compared to a tightly fitted one? i only need to slow down my fall rate a little... and was thinking if the suit was a bit looser overall would it give me a slightly greater range ? skyninja 0 #2 May 6, 2008 Why do you want nylon? It's hot.Why don't you just play 'chicken' on the railroad tracks? It would be a cheaper way to toy with death, I'm sure. CWR #2 - "You SAID collision!"
vskydiver 0 #3 May 6, 2008 I can tell you from my experience, if the suit is loose it's slower. The tighter the suit the faster it is. I have several suits and a few of them are made out of the same fabric. Stretch vinyl for instance... You would think they would be fast no matter what, but one of my stretch vinyl suits is a little looser than the others and it's noticeably slower. I've compared this with my suits made out of pack cloth and also slick nylon taffeta material. I get the same results. The suit isn't fast unless it's tight. So the answer to your question would be, yes. To slow yourself down, put a little bagginess in the suit. Depending on how much you wanted to slow down is how much bag to put in it. You might have to jump the suit a few times to see where and how much bag and adjust it afterwards. I'd recommend putting more bag in it than you think because it's easy to take out and hard to put back in.
Broke 0 #4 May 6, 2008 Define a little? Is that something you can change with body position? Have you tried the old T shirt over your jumpsuit trickDivot your source for all things Hillbilly. Anvil Brother 84 SCR 14192
rehmwa 2 #5 May 6, 2008 Yes - but it's not functional Do you have full sized (or any) booties? Do you have a FULL gripper set? Have taken a good mantis tunnel camp? If you want more drag, consider adding drag with something that helps you perform. Rather than just adding something that flaps. Flapping is bad aerodynamically. (That said, a little bit of loose gives more comfort and the ability to fit a couple layers underneath in cold weather.) ... heavydude 0 #6 May 7, 2008 Most of the jumpsuit dudes like bevsuit and Bodysport have sections on thier websites; overall summary- polycotton suits w/ grippers slow you down. They also make the suit bigger under the arms to slow you down, kind of like wings. When you order a suit just tell them you want to fall slower.
